Chapter 9

Hours have passed, Cutter, Burple, Leyla, and Summer that they haven't returned yet. While Dak, Winger, and Aggro did some rescue and fixed some fences for animals. When the same boy and a girl came walking to Dak and dragons when they looked at eachother.

Boy: Hello, Riders.. I wonder where Leyla is, heard you aren't apart from her.

Dak: she with dragons, they have an important task upcoming.

Girl: oh, is it serious?

Dak: yea, it is... it's a long story, they left in the middle of the night.

Girl: They must be tired.

Dak: we all were... you both need anything?

Girl: oh, yea we are wondering is Leyla seeing anyone?

Dak looked at Winger as he shrugged. Dak looks at them.

Dak: You gotta have to ask her, I think she might be single. We don't really talk about love talks... except for dragons having mates.

Aggro and Winger laughed softly, so did they.

Boy: Well then, nice to know I will ask her... also I'm Wes and this is my friend, Sofia.

Dak: Well, nice to meet you guys.

They nod and leave to go somewhere else when Dak turns to Aggro and Winger.

Dak: if the guy asks Leyla out, you're asking Summer out too, Winger.

Winger: what why?

Dak: hey, i wouldn't have to bet on you since last time i saw you from the roof with Summer, spying and complaining about the same boy wink at our sister, Winger.

He turns and leaves as he smirks while Aggro laughs and Winger rolls his eyes annoyed and shakes his head softly. He looked at Aggro and so did she.

Winger: why does it have to be funny?

Aggro: I find you both cute together, so others agree beside Summer.

Winger: hey, if my date didn't work out then–

Aggro: you have no idea what else to say?

Winger: yea.

They leave for the Roost.

Winger: ok, well I do find Summer and I cute together, i sometimes think of it, but I don't think it would work out.

Aggro: eh, i understand what you mean.

Winger: so, what's up with not talking much?

Aggro: I was wondering that, I guess it's just my moods, at least I'm talking often.

They laugh softly. Meanwhile back at the cave Leyla finally gets the egg out after Alex birthed it. She places it on the nest and lets it dry on itself while she sets the fire pit near the nest so it will keep the egg warm. Alex resting tirely while Burple and Cutter are there, even their parents.

Cutter's dad: thank you for our help, we own you one.

Leyla: don't need, happy to help.

They sadly look at Alex. Leyla knee down to Alex.

Leyla: You know, I can try to fix your stomach.

Alex: ( sighs hardly while breathly ) don't need... All I care about is for my baby to be healthy. Promise me to take good care of my baby dragon.

Leyla: we will...

Cutter: yea.. We will take good care of your baby Razor.

She chuckles softly, her smile soon to break down when her eyes soon to fade, closing her eyes slowly, soon to take last breath. Leyla sighs sadly and stands up. Others have cried. They stayed for a few hours and headed to their home alongside egg Razorwing.

When the sun sets, they get to Roost, Leyla places the egg Razorwing on shelves on a hay nest. Burple and Cutter stayed beside the egg looking at it while Leyla headed to the bedroom to change her clothes while Winger and Dak began to talk.

Winger: We have been thinking, you can go to travel the world, but we want the dragon or a person to go with you.

Leyla: oh, thanks but I decided... I'm not going anywhere. I also needed some time and wasn't able to help her.

Dak: I know losing her must be hard.

Leyla: Even for boys, we keep the egg Razorwing and raise it.

They nod.

Winger: we will be downstairs... foods will be ready for a couple minutes.

Leyla nods when the boys leave. She soon sat on a chair and put her boots on while she looked out the window.
