The moment those words left Mayank's mouth both Nivah and Priyank were shocked and then a moment later they are rolling on the ground laughing. Looking at them Mayank groaned at his own misery.
"So you are telling me a girl apparently an unknown one has bailed on you while you are still hanging there. God this is hilarious," said Nivah laughing completely amused with the situation.
"And you say women don't affect you. Brother, you not over a single woman," Priyank piped in.
"Shut up, will you. I don't know why I am hanging on but I am. That's not the problem. The problem is that I don't even know her name. And you guys are laughing at my misery. So much for being friends," said a frustrated Mayank.
That shut both Nivah and Priyank up. They stared at each other and sighed. Nivah silently sat beside Mayank and locked their arms together and placed her head on his shoulders.
"Look May, I don't know the intensity of your feelings. But trust me, if it is meant to be then it will happen at any price. So don't overthink it. And if it makes you feel any better, I have waited for nearly a month to meet the man that I said I am in love with," said Nivah calmly.
"You what?" asked the boys. It was their turn to be alarmed.
"Yes, after a long wait of 3 and half weeks I finally met him today,"
"Who?" was the only question that left their mouth.
"Pree, you met him. It's Barkha's brother you met at the cafe," said Nivah dropping the bomb on Priyank.
"What? Pree, you met him. How is he? Is he good enough for Lavi? For god's sake say something," said Mayank who is tired of not getting any answers from Priyank. Now he regretted that he missed the meet-up with her friend.
Darn it! The meeting had to come up just today?
Finally, Priyank broke out of his stupor with Mayank's telling and groans of frustration.
"Why didn't you tell me that there?" was the only question he was able to ask.
"Oh that, I felt that he was uncomfortable talking about his love life in front of his family. So I kept quiet," said Nivah simply shrugging her shoulders as if it wasn't big of a deal.
"So you are telling that expressionless stoic poker face snob is the man you love. Unbelievable! I mean where the hell is your exquisite taste now? You girls I tell you are mindless" exclaimed Priyank with his hands high up in frustration.
