You were a little surprised to notice the thoughts slowed, and eventually you fell into a deep sleep.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring.. hopefully something normal.

Those thoughts didn't age well.

====================================

Waking up from your first peaceful night of sleep in the past few days, you rubbed your eyes, sat up, and took in the bright morning sunlight sneaking in through your bedside window. Well, for a second, you did. You groaned and laid back down, just five more minutes, then you'll do something today. However, after about 20 minutes of just lying there, you couldn't fall asleep, so you decided to get up and take a drive around town. Suddenly, your phone rang. Not expecting the noise, you jumped and quicky grabbed the phone, looking at the number. You didn't recognize it, but it was most likely that place you applied to yesterday.

"Hello?" you asked, not expecting to hear what was coming next.

"Yeah, um, (Y/N) (L/N), is it? Well, since you're the only person who applied for a job at all here this week, you're hired. Come in by noon to get your uniform so Mike or Scott can show you the ropes. You'll work half the day shift today and start the night shift Monday."

"Oh, tha-" The boss hung up before you could finish your sentence. Rude. Just great. You were working the night shift. You just hoped there would be another person working it with you, otherwise this job is going to be hell. Looking through your closet, you noticed you barely had any presentable clothes, so you grabbed a random colored t-shirt and some jeans to throw on, as well as a light hoodie and your beanie. Grabbing your phone, you checked the time to make sure you were not going to be running late. The pizzeria was only about 5 minutes away, but you still somehow made it easy to be late. "Oh, okay, only about two hours until I need to go," you muttered to yourself. Did you get everything? You wanted to be sure.

Phone? Check.

Charger? Check.

...What else did you need? You felt like you were missing something, but you couldn't put your finger on what it was. Oh well, you were hungry and needed breakfast, so you got your car keys, threw on your shoes, and headed out the door. You had noticed a small cafe around here last night, so you decided to grab something there before making your way to Freddy's. Looking at the menu, you saw one of your favorite pastries, so you decided to order it. A few minutes later, the employee behind the counter called out your name.

"Order for (Y/N)? (Y/N), your order is ready!" Walking up to the counter, you grabbed your pastry, paid, and left the cafe. You ate the pastry on the drive to Freddy's, being sure to keep steady with the steering wheel.

Soon enough, you pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car, tossing the wrapper in a nearby garbage bin. Walking into the open doors, you saw what looked to be another employee. He was leaning against the wall by the stage, and it looked like he was observing the crowd for something. No, it seemed more like he was looking for someone. Hoping he was looking for someone else, you decided to get yourself a drink. The man seemed to notice you though and approached where you had been standing.

"Hey, you the new guy me and Scott are supposed to show around?" Startled, you turned around, and saw the man's blue eyes pierce through you. You read his nametag, seems like his name was Mike.

"I- Yes?" You collected yourself and noticed Mike had an irritated look on his face. "Sorry, yes, I'm the new guy. Name's (Y/N)." You extended your arm out for a handshake, but Mike seemed to ignore it.

"And I'm Mike, let me show you where Scott is," Mike said, motioning for you to follow him and walking off. You followed Mike, wondering why he tended to push away people. Maybe it was because you were new. The two of you entered the security office, where you saw the man with the phone mask again. "Scott, this is the newbie. Help me show them around."
