Demon slayer one-shots

Shinobu walked around the mansion checking on everyone before heading off again. She walked along the kitchen just to see it empty.

'Huh, didn't Aoi say she was going to go ahead and start lunch?' she thought to herself as she spotted an empty kitchen.

She spotted Kanao coming down the corridor in a rush.

"Kanao why are you in such a hurry?"

"A-a demon! It was spotted in the nearby village! A-Aoi just went off there a couple of minutes ago!" She rushed out of her mouth.

Shinobu quickly ran behind her, following her out.

"Kanao go get the guys and meet me there. The more the better." Shinobu said.

"Okay!" she answered before departing in her own direction.

Kanao ran as fast as she could to the garden. She really never was well under pressure when it involved something that actually triggered emotions within her. It was rare occasions when this occurred which made it more difficult for her to know how to manage these types of emotions.

"Tanjiro! Agatsume! Hashibira!" She took a sharp turn towards them.

They turned to look at her quickly knowing that she never raises her voice.

"Kanao! What's wrong?!" Tanjiro shouted.

"Aoi! We have to go to the village!"

The three boy's immediately picked up their weapons and followed Kanao.

"Did you already tell Kocho-sama?" Tanjiro asked running next to Kanao.

She nodded silently focused on getting to their location. As they ran they managed to catch up to Shinobu. Kanao could not give much information as all she knew was that the demon was in the village attacking people. None of them knew if there was just one or if Aoi was okay. Inosuke seemed to be extremely quiet which concerned the other three but they chose to enjoy a moment of silence in order to concentrate knowing that there was danger. Finally after ten minutes they made it to the village.

There were shrill screams from panicked citizens all around. Many babies cried and children yelled out for the parents. Kanao looked around rapidly searching for Aoi and for the demon and prayed that they were not in the same place.

"I can smell blood...Over there!" Tanjiro pointed behind a tall cottage near a forest.

"Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tanjiro, you stay here and get the people to safety. I and Kanao will go fight if we need you we'll send a crow."

"Can I please come?! I need to know if Aoi's okay!" Insouke practically pleaded.

'Did he just say please?! And call her by her first name?!' Shinobu instantly thought going into protective mode.

A vein began to appear on her forehead. "No-"

"Please! Shinobu- sama you said it's better if we have more!" Kanao begged

'She definitely knows what is going on,'

"Oh, fine. But let's move! Now!"

They departed from the other two running towards the cottage. They heard grunts of pain and watched as Aoi barely held out against the demon. She kept the hideous creature at bay protecting a little girl and what appeared to be her little brother. Blood was clear and visible from afar. But what was uncomforting was that it was not coming from the demon.

"Aoi!" Inosuke shouted, running in their direction.

Shinobu stopped him by putting her sword in front of him, not allowing him to move any further than where he had managed.
