As soon as Giyū and Shinobu were out of the rest of their sights they immediately pulled each other in for a kiss. They held their breath and only stopped until neither could breath. Once they pulled away they smiled at each other again.
"I missed you so much," Giyū told her.
Shinobu smiled again looking up at him "I did too,"
She gave him one last kiss before they began walking again.
"What was it that was so important that you couldn't tell me in that letter?" she asked
He stayed quiet. "I broke a promise,"
Shinobu stayed silent knowing that she had also done the same a couple of months ago and had not yet told him. She felt like a coward.
"Well, what was the promise,"
"Tanjirou knows ...about us,"
She stopped and he felt like he was sweating.
"Did anyone else find out?"
"No,"
She began walking again leading him into the private gardens.
"Guess what?"
"What?" he asked nervously.
"I also have to tell you that Kanao found out,"
Giyū stopped this time.
"Anyone else?"
"Nope...pff-" Shinobu began to laugh uncontrollably.
Giyū smiled upon seeing her laugh. "What is it?" he finally asked.
"It's just- those two are probably dying inside-" he began to laugh.
It was true the couple were probably regretting their life choices since they couldn't tell each other. They were both too honest and up to now they had not lied to each other. How little did they know that they shared the same secret.
Finally once they reached the small lake, he took her hands and brought them up to his face kissing both of them making her blush.
"Stop embarrassing me, c'mon I have a surprise for you," she said, taking off his hand and pulling him to a smaller place with more flowers.
There was a small picnic basket along with a blanket. There, close to it was the small lake.
She tugged his arm and led him to the blanket where he sat down along with her.
"Isn't it lovely?" She asked, looking around.
His smile grew wider if possible. He scanned around spotting a beautiful purple flower and picking it up. He leaned forward placing it in her hair.
"Not as lovely as you," he said as she giggled, giving him a peck on the cheek.
She looked over at the lake and back at him.
"I'll be honest the only reason I brought you here was to create mischief," she said standing up.
He obviously followed her not understanding. He stood in front of the lake not even noticing it was there.
She began to back up causing him to raise a brow.
"What are you-" but before he could finish he was in the water splashing.
Shinobou laughed even harder watching as her partner fought the water. He finally found the land and leaned on it breathing heavily. He could barely look through his long hair but managed to spot the insect pillar laughing in front of him.
She leaned in a crouched position in front of him with a mocking smile.
"I'm sorry but you really stunk," she said. He glared up at her and suddenly smiled.
"I could say the same thing for you, Shino," and he pulled her into the water catching her off guard.
She floated back up almost instantly, not very happy with him.
"You little-" he began splashing her to keep her quiet as she did as well. But Tomioka realized he was throwing water at nothing.
He looked around but couldn't spot her until he felt the water pull him down. He closed his eyes and once he opened them there she was giggling under the water causing bubbles to float to the surface. He smiled gently as they began to float back to the top. His hair had come loose and so had hers.
She rapidly searched for her bow but Giyū taunted in her face.
"Give it back moron," she said, reaching towards it.
He pulled it up so she couldn't reach. She jumped on him, putting her arms around his neck. They stared at each other just for a moment before she leaned in and kissed him. He lowered his arm and placed the bow back in her hair. She couldn't care less at that moment all that mattered was them. They spun around until they ran out of air and finally let go of eachother.
She smiled as they began to climb back onto the shore.
He sat on the blanket shaking his wet hair.
"Giyū! Don't get that blanket wet!" She shouted.
"Sorry!" He shouted back, getting up.
"You better be," she said, stomping back towards the basket taking it off the blanket.
She pulled out bowls of rice and handed a pair of chopsticks to him. He took his first but and looked at her.
"What was the purpose of the blanket?" He questioned.
She glared up at him, "You dare question me?" She answered.
He sat up straight, "No ma'am" he said a bit panicked.
"Mhm," she said, stifling a laugh.
She couldn't help but think of how much he resembled a child when he was both taller and older than her.
"How did you sneak out without Kanzaki on your tail?" He asked taking another bite.
"She was busy with the girls, plus she shouldn't care we're I am, it's none of her business," she said cockily.
He laughed lightly as she smiled gently.
"We should probably the love birds tomorrow,"
"Yeah,"
"Giyū?"
"What?"
"I love you,"
"I do too, Shino,"
