Aoi tiredly shook the baby in her arms as she screamed fighting her. She hushed the child, but she refused to be quiet.

"Aluin," she said softly to the child.

Finally, Aoi stood up and began to walk around her small room. The bright moon light shining on her. Aoi had just turned 17 two months prior, and her baby was 5 months which basically meant she had gotten pregnant and had her baby at 16. Though sometimes she really did wish Shinobu had killed her when she found out she had gotten pregnant. At least then maybe she wouldn't have gotten to hear about her death during the battle.

Aoi laid on the bed once more when Aluin had calmed down and was starting to drift off. She patted the baby's bottom gently to soothe her into slumber.

The mere remembrance of her could bring tears to her eyes, but she refused to cry. Though her bottom lip quivered. Shinobu had died when Aoi was eight months, leaving the birth in Kanao's hands. Aoi felt horrible for making Kanao go through such an experience when only barely knowing about medicine.

She really did regret having the child she held in her hands. If she had just waited a couple more years and not let her hormones get the best of her, maybe she would have been able to grieve properly. Maybe she wouldn't be as tired. And even maybe she would not be tied to one of the craziest guys she knew.

Unfortunately, when her gravestone was made, she was not able to be there when it was placed and set up since it had been just a couple of days after giving birth she could not stand. She remembered sobbing a lot that day and having no one there to comfort her other than Aluin. She tried to smile every now and again but every time she thought of Shinobu it became difficult. Despite her sadness she had to continue forward and raise this baby she held just as Shinobu would have been proud of.

Aoi threw her head back only imagining how tired she would be the next day-or rather it had just turned one- so later today. She had so many chores and even though the triplets helped her it wasn't enough. Shinobu made running the estate seem so easy but really it was a lot of work. Apart from it she had to take care of Aluin which made things even worse as she usually refused to sleep during the night and stayed fully awake throughout the day. She reminded Aoi of her father with how much energy she constantly had.

Aluin's father was the one and only crazy and chaotic Inosuke. Right now, he was off on a mission since even though there was no longer a kind there were still demons. He and the other two were usually the ones sent on missions but usually came back with mere scratches and bruises, so Aoi never worried for him. However even though they had a child together Aoi didn't like him since he constantly got on her nerves. He tried his hardest to always get along with her, but he argued with her a lot as well.

Aoi turned to her side in order to face the baby and stare at her sleeping figure. She had bright green eyes like him, and dark blue hair like her. She was dressed in a flowered print onesie Aoi had sewed. Her eyelids began to become heavy, so she slowly stood, setting the baby down in her crib. Aoi leaned slowly, giving her a kiss on the side of her head. She stretched before allowing herself to fall onto the bed quickly falling asleep.

Only what felt like minutes passed before Aluin began to cry. Aoi looked at the clock on the wall reading 4:00. She only had one hour before she had to really get up, so she decided to get dressed. She let the child cry in the crib as she changed into her usual clothing for the day. Once she finished, she picked up her baby and calmed her by wiping her tears with her apron.

"Shush," she said calmly.

The baby however still did not become quiet, and she rubbed against Aoi's chest. Aoi giggled realizing what she wanted. She unbuttoned the top of her uniform and undid her bra. Aluin quickly latched onto her mother and pulled hard at her causing Aoi to flinch slightly. She brushed the baby's hair with her gentle fingers. She paused suddenly sensing a familiar presence. She assumed maybe one of the girls had gotten up for a glass of water, so she dismissed it. Just as she relaxed her door flew open making her jump from fright.

"Inosuke!" she shouted, throwing a pillow at him.

He avoided it and put a finger on his lips. She glared at him as he came closer to her. He kneeled down in order to see Aluin better, but Aoi had grabbed a blanket to cover herself.

"Why you cover yourself?" he whispered. "I have seen you before."

She flushed a bright red. "Be quiet," she answered.

"I want to hold her." he said.

She rolled her eyes but removed the baby from under the blanket and handed her to him. She buttoned her uniform once more and watched as Inosuke stared at her gently, holding her with both of his arms.

"You're so dirty." she said, grabbing the blanket and cleaning some dirt off of his face.

He ignored her and continued to stare at the baby. She smiled at him as Inosuke began to tear up.

"Hey, why are you crying?" she asked.

He handed Aluin back to Aoi and wiped his face with his hand. "Nothing,"

Her eyes softened staring at him. "Inosuke, come on,"

"It's just...the last time I saw her...she was...small...and now she big," his voice cracked.

"Oh, Inosuke, that's how babies work." she answered. "You were small like her once too."

He sniffled before leaning over and hugging her by the waist. She leaned into his hug and smiled.

No matter how crazy he was and no matter how chaotic and annoying he was in the end she loved him.
