JAMES

I could honestly not give a shit or two.

"Why are you always so moody, man?" Reid took a seat beside me. Reid was one of my best men; he's been by my side since we were in high school. I sat the glass of whiskey onto the glass tray and rubbed my stubble.

"Honestly, don't you ever smile?" Ace chimed in, and I mentally groaned. "Both of you fuck off and listen to the details for tomorrow night," I said, heaving a sigh and licking my lips as I listened to what was going to happen tomorrow night.

"We need to stop at the warehouse before we go wherever you said we have to be after," I started, but I got interrupted. "Stop at the warehouse, and do what exactly?" Ace asked.

I sighed and rubbed my forehead. "If you let me finish, maybe you would know," I said. "I have to deal with someone, and I didn't hold up my end of the bargain. So now I have to kill the son of a bitch," I said, taking a stand and pouring another drink because I needed it badly.

Reid chuckled. "You have to make it quick; we are expected to be at my house at nine o'clock, exactly," he said, looking at his watch.

I scoffed. "I take my time in what I do best, and I'm not attending to whatever your wife is planning," I said, taking a sip of my drink.

"It's not for her; it's for Talia. She's hosting a surprise dinner for her birthday tomorrow night," Ace said before he left the room.

I froze and slowly set down the glass. Shit.

"What's your name again?" I approached the brunette who was currently standing behind the bar, wiping down the counters. She peered up and blinked a few times before answering my question. But before she could, another woman stood next to her, who I assumed was her friend.

"I'm Char, and I've been working for you for at least a year now, and you still don't know my name?" Her expression was filled with shock.

The woman next to her laughed, and my eyes snapped to hers, and she immediately stopped.

"Where's your other friend, the blonde?" I asked, looking around the bar area. I peered back up at the ladies in front of me, who were currently smiling like children.

"Bathroom. She's cleaning the bathroom, men's to be exact," Char winked, and I shook my head.

I made my way up the ramp to where the men's bathroom was located on the east wing. I entered the room and noticed Talia on the floor, on her knees to be exact, hesitantly starting to clean the toilets.

"It seems like you're having fun," the blonde snapped her eyes to me, and she immediately rolled them, then let out a groan.

She stood and left the supplies on the ground beside her. "If you don't mind, men aren't allowed in here while I'm cleaning. The door is that way," she pointed and turned back around.

Her ponytail fell out of the tie, and her hair flowed down to her back. "I'll have one of my men clean up in here; you shouldn't be doing this," I said, waving my hand.

She looked back and scoffed. "What do you care? I'm here to do my job and get paid. Please leave me alone and let me clean." I wasn't taken aback by her response, seeing as I knew she would still be upset from the other day.
