Chapter 16: Meeting Ranboo and Ghostbur

  You wake up today feeling the weight of anxiety over you. You are planning to meet the newcomer and the ghost of your friend. You are unsure if the meetings will go well but you will try your best to befriend them. You don't know if Ghostbur will remember you at all as Phil had said that he has amnesia. You head to L'manberg where Phil had told you to meet Ghostbur at.

  You try to be discreet while going into the nation you helped destroy as you are not very welcomed here. Tommy spots you and starts yelling at you despite your best efforts,' How dare you to waltz in here? You betrayed us, we trusted you!' You sigh and explain yourself,' I am here to meet Ghostbur and I never was on your side. I was on Wilbur and Techno's side so I couldn't betray you if I never was on your side, to begin with.' He seems shocked by the sudden revelation.

  You walk past him and go to the meeting spot, Ghostbur's house. You are going to knock on the door but the door is thrown open the moment you try to approach it. 'Y/N! My dearest friend, how have you been?' He engulfs you with a hug while you stand there surprised. He is a lot different than the Wilbur you knew. He has pale grey skin and the warm smile he had already lost in the time of war. You raise your arms up in reflex to hug him back.

  Ghostbur pulls away and smiles at you. He sighs and grips your hands,' I have missed you so much, Y/N.' You can't help but look away from the pure adoration in his eyes. 'Uh... Ha, actually I thought you would have forgotten me with that amnesia of yours.' He tilts his head in confusion,' What do you mean? I only forget unhappy things, I can remember all the happy things.' You are flattered that he remembers you as happy memories. 

  While you are talking with him, you notice he has a more meek and echoey voice. You tell him that you are now moving to live with Techno. He seems ecstatic and wants to visit your house but you have to tell him that it is not ready for visitors yet. Ghostbur pouts a little but is happy again when you promise to show him your house soon and that you will hang out with him a lot. You smile at him with a twinge of sadness as you are reminded of what had happened.

  He notices that you are sad and hands you a blue thing. You tilt your head and ask what it is. 'It is Blue! You can put your sadness in it and throw it away to get rid of the sadness,' he explains with an innocent smile. You hold the Blue tightly and carefully put it in your pocket. 'Ghostbur, I have just met you as you and I love you,' you grip his hands like how he gripped yours. He blushes blue and fumbles with his word.

  He is flustered into rushing a goodbye and thanking you before closing the door. You shake your head at how cute he can be. You walk on to meet Ranboo at his house next while you think of your interactions with Ghostbur. You knock politely on his door and see a tall boy and by tall you mean really tall, inhumanly tall. He looks at you with his two-colored eyes and smiles politely. He shakes your hands and awkwardly introduces himself. You follow suit but then you two just stare at each other without saying anything.

  The dead and awkward silence is getting to you so you try to scramble for a topic. 'I-' 'You-' We both said simultaneously. 'Ahem, anyways do you wanna hang out or something?' You scratch your head and suggest. He says sure and lets you in. You fidget a bit and start asking him some questions like 'Do you like cats?'. As awkward as the start is, you two eventually relax enough to have a full-on conversation.

  You find Ranboo pleasant to talk to unlike what your anxiety led you to believe. Then, he asks if you want to have a house tour. You shrug and stand up to follow him. He leads you around and you compliment his home accordingly. You are reminded of the time you complimented Wilbur on his base. Once the house tour is over, you two are once again back to talking about life. You talk about your pets and farm. He is impressed that you are taking care of animals and farms so well and so diligently.

  You take out a clock and find that it is a bit before evening. You say goodbye to Ranboo and make your way home. You tend to your farm and mine like usual. When you come back up, it is already night. You head back home and see Techno. He looks a lot softer without his armor and cape. He is in his dress shirt and pants, leaning on a nearby wall. He greets you and you nod at him.

  You make dinner with potatoes because Techno loves them. First, you chop the meat into bits and fry them. Then you cut the potatoes and put cheese on them. You put the meat on top and put them in the smoker. You two talk about your day while you wait for the potatoes to be baked. You pull the tray out and put them on the table with gloves on. You get some apples and quickly make apple juice. 

  You enjoy a good meal with Techno and head to bed with a full stomach. You contemplate what you have done today and arrive at the conclusion that today was a good day. You do some stretches and go to bed. As the darkness consumes you, you wonder when you should reveal your secret to your friends.
