Chapter 20: Technoblade never dies

  You wake up in a cold sweat, hyperventilating. You grab onto your blanket and try to still yourself from the nightmare you just had. Techno breaks into your room with a weapon in hand. He looks around your room and spots no threat. 'Sorry, I heard you screaming just now and I thought someone broke in -Are you alright?' You force a smile on your face and say you are fine. He clearly doesn't believe you.

  You try and fail to hold yourself together. 'Techno, I- I just had a nightmare that you... You had a mysterious illness and... I couldn't see you anymore...' You break down crying and Techno walks toward you. He wraps his arms around your gently and rocks you back and forth to calm you down. He pats your back awkwardly,' It's ok, my (Y/N). Everything will be alright. Even if I... The things in your dream happen, I won't leave you.' You wrap your arms around him tightly as if the next moment he would disappear. 

  You cry onto his chest and he looks down at you with an incredibly soft look in his eyes. He frees one hand and runs his fingers through your hair. You mumble incoherently and he just hums in response. In your head, you question if you will be able to live on without Techno. The voices all say that what you have seen just now will happen no matter what. 

  You close your eyes, inhaling Techno's scent to calm yourself. He smells of dirt and fire with a now lighter metallic scent. When you open your eyes, you have set your mind on keeping him here beside you at all cost. The voices agree and start to suggest ways to keep him here. After all, they have said that you will gain some sort of power. You still have time, you can still get stronger. 

  But that can come later. For now, you will just go back to sleep with Techno and enjoy your time with him. Both of your breaths slow and the room falls back to silence. Even in sleep, you two hold each other close together with your face buried in his chest. One of his calloused and scarred hands holds your softer one.
