Adversary || Xingyun

Chongyun knocked on the front door, waiting for someone to answer. Today his aunt: Shenhe, was staying over for a while, so he didn't bother bringing his keys with him, since Shenhe usually just stayed at home most of the time.

While Chongyun was waiting, he felt a slight nudge on his shoulder.

'Hm?'

He faced towards Xingqiu, the dark blue haired boy just staring at the front door.

'Can you not?'

'What?'

'...'

Chongyun gave him a nudge back, but this time it was more prominent than Xingqiu's. Xingqiu returned the nudge, which ended up being stronger than Chongyun's previous shoulder nudge. Both of them continued this until they heard the slight creak of a door.

'..Hello?'

'Oh, Chongyun, it's you.  Who's this?'

A slim woman with snow white hair appeared, standing and holding the door open.

'Oh, Auntie Shenhe, this is Xingqiu... he'll just be staying here for the night.' Chongyun replied, with a slight tone of annoyance in his voice.

'Oh, ok. Both of you can come in.'

Shenhe moved aside and made way for the two boys to walk in

'Thanks Auntie, where's mom?' Chongyun inquired, noticing that his mom wasn't around

'She had to go out of town for some work but she'll be back by tomorrow. I'll make you boys dinner though.' Shenhe answered with her monotonous voice.

'That's fine, thanks.'

'You two can go in Chongyun's room, there should be enough space for the both of you to sleep.'

'Alright.. so I'll grab a separate mattress if that's fine.'

'Wow. So inconsiderate, you didn't even ask if I wanted to sleep on the bed.'

Chongyun stood still for a few seconds and after processing what Xingqiu said, after realizing his face went from a calm expression to a slight irritated one.

'Shut up, you're not getting the bed.' Chongyun answered with a tone of annoyance in his voice.

'Ok ok, whatever you say..' 

Xingqiu was slightly stupefied that Chongyun got so annoyed at a small joke.

'Guys! Dinner's ready!' Shenhe called out.

Both boys stopped arguing as soon as they heard Shenhe. They then rushed over to the kitchen to enjoy dinner. Both of them sat around the table and waited for Shenhe to bring out the food.

'Alright, here you go Chongyun, cold noodles. You, here's the same thing, just heated up.'

'Thank you, but why exactly are Chongyun's noodles cold?'

'He didn't tell you? Hot or sometimes even warm food makes him feel weird. Let's just say he doesn't enjoy it.'

Xingqiu giggled a little while Chongyun shot him an angry look while he was slurping his noodles, which only made him laugh more noticeably. Xingqiu then looked up to Shenhe, and oh god. She was glaring at him, and boy was it terrifying. The fierce look on her face sent chills down his spine, not in a good way.

'Is there something wrong with that?' Shenhe asked, still holding her glare.

'N..no it's alright.' Xingqiu quickly looked away from her and started eating.

Man she was scary.

Chongyun laid down the spare mattress beside his bed, it was a small room but the mattress was able to fit in eventually.

'We never agreed that I could sleep on the mattress-'

'Well it's my room and you're not getting on the bed, plus the two of us probably couldn't fit anyways.'

'Well you never know unless you t-'

'No. Why do you want to sleep on the bed anyways?'

Xingqiu's mind went blank, he didn't actually have a proper reason.

'Exactly, so you get the mattress. At least I'm not making you sleep directly on the floor.'

Both of them got changed and started scrolling through their phones a bit. Eventually the two of them decided to go to sleep as it was getting fairly late.

Xingqiu laid down on the mattress on the floor as Chongyun switched off the light. A few minutes in the dark, Xingqiu started to mumble something.

'Hey.. Chongyun? I know we've been fighting for a couple of years now, but I really do l-'

'Chongyun?'

He peaked up to check Chongyun and the popsicle boy had already drifted off to sleep.

'Ah, nevermind.'

My exams are finally over ong

I do have more in April but that's gonna be a while so I'll be fine
