"Friends."

The word replayed in his head endlessly.

Chongyun genuinely wanted to be Xingqiu's friend, but knowing him, it could all just be a scam in the end. Xingqiu was a pretty unpredictable person.

His brain couldn't come up with a simple answer, feeling stupid for overthinking on such a small thing.

"Maybe I'll just talk to Xiangling about this..."

He picked up his phone and looked through his contacts.

"Xiangling.. Xiangling.. there." He mumbled while searching.

He clicked on the call button, hoping Xiangling would answer, and luckily she did.

"Hey Chongyun, whats up?"

"Nothing much.. Xiangling can I talk to you about something?"

"Yeah sure, spill it out."

"So this afternoon, Xingqiu asked me if we could start off again as friends, but I don't know, it just seems 'off' coming from him."

"Hmm..."

"You should accept, you two would learn to get along, and I don't have to deal with you two fighting 24/7."

"I don't know... I just feel like he'll do something wrong."

"Ok, well if he does anything horrible to you, I'll be sure to deal with him myself."

"Ok ok, you don't have to go that far, but thanks."

"Yeah, no problem."

Chongyun ended the call and took a small nap.

Maybe being Xingqiu's friend wouldn't be so bad?

"So... did you think about it?" Xingqiu asked.

"Yeah sure, we can be friends." Chongyun replied, still feeling a little unconfident with his answer.

"Oh- wait really?! I didn't think you would say yes, so uh, does hanging out after school work?"

"Hang out? Why?"

"To get to know each other more I guess?"

"Alright, where?"

"We can just meet up outside the gate and decide from there? If that works."

"Yeah that sounds fine, I'll see you there."

"Alright, Bye!" Xingqiu waved as he walked towards his next class.

Wonder how this is gonna end up.

Chongyun stood near the gate, like Xingqiu told him, waiting for the blue-haired boy.

"Yun'!" Xingqiu yelped, hugging the popsicle boy.

"Hey, just because I said we could be friends doesn't mean you have to get all clingy." Chongyun turned a little red from that.

"Haha, sorry about that, anyways, I know this really nice café we can go to, if you'd like to go, of course."

"Sure, a cold drink would be nice too."
