Chapter 6

Before we step on the bridge Shiela told us something but I opposed,  telling that we shouldn't change plans,  we'll use two strategies in one moved instead.

The wire isn't that weak. It can handle weights.

With the wire's force,  hindi kami basta-bastang malalaglag. The only problem we'd face is that,  it'll be slippery. Isang maling galaw lang namin,  dudulas at dudulas ang aming mga paa and that will be our downfall. Pero sa ngayon, we can't just change plans now that we're here.

"Ready?"  I asked them with my eyes fixed on the edge of the bridge. It's too long!

"We can do it!" Hazel cheerfully said.

"At the count of three,  we'll step." sabi ko sa kanila. We shouldn't waste time here.  Speed and tactics should be prioritize.

"Wait,  on three or after three?" kamuntikan na akong mapapikit sa tanong ni Hazel. There's no time for joke right now!

Can't she have some common sense this time?!

"On three," matigas kong sabi.

We planned to walk alternately too. Katulad sa pagkakahawak namin ng mga kamay. But Shiela said that instead of alternative, the first two will step their right foot and the remaining two will step the left foot,  and vise versa.

Knowing that the wire is slippery, kapag may nadulas na isa,  hindi namin magagawang isalba ito sa pamamagitan ng taktikang napagplanuhan kanina. So she said that instead of walking we can hang on the wire. That way mas tatagal kami at hindi hassle. Pero hindi ako pumayag,  telling her that we'll get exhausted and before we could even reach the end,  there's a chance that we will fall.  Maaring sumuko ang mga kamay namin.

Kaya napagdesiyunan naming subukan pa din ang unang plano at kapag hindi tumalab ay agarang gawin ang plano niya,  to hold on to the wire and used our handas get there.

They don't prohibit something other than cheating, kaya pasok pa din ang plano namin.

"One... Two.... Three!" sabay-sabay kaming naghawak-kamay at humakbang.

The wire didn't move,  pero may hangin pa ding sagabal.

This is what I hate the most! When everything is fine but there's this air that will always make it complicated and hard! Laging may tagagulo at tagasubok sa planong pulido at galaw na kalkulado!

Tahimik lang ang paligid nang magsimula kaming humakbang ulit, probably reading our strategy or wishing for our failure.

"Three!" I counted. At muli kaming humakbang.

The plan A did work, and if ever may mangyari we still have plan B.

"You think we should step bigger?" I heard Hanna asked.
