The afternoon August sun blazed down on blue eyes, causing Naruto to squint and shield his face with his hand. The humid air felt stuffy compared to the cool air conditioning he had just broke free from. Scanning the front yard of the rehab center, he quickly spotted the black Ford Escape, along with his two favorite people in the world.

A large smile spread across his whisker marked cheeks as he picked up his luggage and trotted over to where his foster father and older brother were leaning on the car. Once within arms reach, he promptly dropped his bags and quickly wrapped his arms around both of the men's shoulders, squeezing them together into a three-way hug. He hummed in content as his arms clung tightly onto their necks, causing Iruka to break from his somber frown to a slight chuckle.

"I missed you kiddo" Iruka murmured into his son's hair.
"Mhm. Me too" Naruto quickly mumbled before breaking his hold. He then looked up at his older brother.

Kurama peered down into those bright blue eyes with a frown. But his frown could not be held for long, as he stared down at the cheeky smile that he oh so adored, causing him to finally break into a small smirk. He poked the younger boy in the stomach with a small 'humph', before ruffling his blonde locks and picking up his bags.

"Let's go, I'm starving." Kurama muttered as he loaded the suitcases into the trunk of the car and made his way into the passenger seat. Naruto hummed in agreement as he climbed into the back seat of the car himself.

It had become an unfortunate tradition for the trio to go out for burgers and milkshakes after picking Naruto up from rehab. They usually would share their experiences and the latest gossip since being away from each other for so long, all over the mass amount of grease filled food. The only reason Naruto disliked this tradition was that it always ended with the usual 'get your shit together' pep talks.

"Soo...what'd I miss?" Naruto asked while smashing the ice cream down in his cup with his straw.

Iruka folded his hands on the slightly sticky booth table with a small sigh. "A lot. But first, how are you feeling?"

Naruto pouted slightly at the question. Yeah, he knew that he'd have to end up talking about his experience in rehab; he always did. But that didn't mean he didn't liked it any less each time. Especially after this time.

This rehab stay was different for multiple reasons. For one, it was not the typical intervention gone wrong that landed him in the facility. No, this time it was an overdose. Second week of summer, his best friend Sakura found him unconscious with his head in the toilet. It was a fucked up situation overall, and Naruto was not looking forward to facing her again after that.

The second reason this time was different, was because it was longer than the other two stays in rehab. Twice as long to be exact. 60 grueling days that seemed to never end in Naruto's eyes. It was definitely a different experience. Naruto had not known what it was like to be sober that long since he was 11 years old.
