Rapture

Chapter 7

     A few days had passed. In those days, Naruto and Sasuke were nearly inseparable. After they had left Gaara's that day, they did go out. But neither of them considered it a date.

     Of course, Naruto took Sasuke to the only place he knew: Ichiraku Ramen. From there they took their food to-go and ate at the park and just talked about everything.

     After what he had heard in the conversations between Naruto and Shikamaru, Sasuke couldn't help but inquire for more information. And to his surprise, Naruto opened up about everything with no hesitation. He talked about the start of his addiction when he was thirteen.

Iruka had a health scare three years ago. It was a very scary time for the whole household. But it seemed to effect Naruto especially hard. For everyone in his life to come and go so often, having the one consistent adult be so close to leaving him as well, scared the absolute shit out of him.

As a result, the boy refused to leave Iruka's side, out of fear that if he even left his sight to go to the bathroom, he'd never see his foster father again. Anytime Iruka so much as fell asleep before the boy, Naruto would break out in fits of panic attacks and hysterics.

Luckily, Iruka was cleared and granted a full bill of health. But for months he had gone threw multiple rigorous tests and surgeries. This is when Naruto met his first love: Oxycodone.

While the two would be cooped up in Iruka's bed together watching old rom-coms, Naruto couldn't help but notice how relaxed Iruka was from the medication. Through his unbearable anxiety, the young teen at the time felt he could try anything to feel okay once again.

Whenever Iruka would fall asleep taking one, Naruto would then take one. Thus beginning the dark hole that is Naruto Uzumaki's life with addiction.

Naruto was even surprised himself by how much he had told Sasuke. But despite it all, he was more surprised at how much Sasuke opened up about himself. Sasuke was too.

Sasuke swore to himself that he would never tell a soul about his BPD. But for some odd reason, he felt it was only right to tell Naruto, especially after all Naruto had told him. And he was glad he did. Not only was Naruto receptive and understanding to everything Sasuke talked about, it was like he lived through the experience with him.

Throughout all his life, Sasuke never truly understood how lonely he actually was until he met Naruto. Not even his own family was willing to hear him out when he needed to vent about his mental illness. But to have someone there to listen without dismissing or belittling his thoughts and feelings, meant everything to Sasuke.

Overall the two had stayed at the park talking about just about everything for hours past Naruto's curfew. And although they both received quite an earful from Iruka when getting home, the two agreed it was well worth it.

It was now the following Tuesday, and the two boys had barely left each other's side. The only time they separated was for family meals and to sleep, but even then, they had moved their beds against their parallel windows so they could talk until one of them finally succumbed to their exhaustion.

One thing Sasuke picked up on rather quickly, was when Naruto was high. It was clear that the blonde was well versed in hiding his intoxication. But after spending nearly a week of being attached at the hip, Sasuke caught on to the signs. His pupils would dialate, eyelids droop, and he often would lose his train of thought. It would only last about half an hour or so before Naruto would be able to compose himself, and be back to his natural state of hyperactivity and goofiness. But Sasuke began to really dislike those thirty minutes.

At this moment, the teens were sprawled out on Naruto's bed watching South Park. Sasuke was at the end of the bed, laying on his stomach with his elbows propping himself up, while Naruto was laying on his back sitting up against his headboard.
