I'm back and I should be updating more frequently!! Enjoy!!

There isn't a much better feeling than being partnered with the girl you like in biology. I choked down my smile when Mr. Dulton announced partners because I knew that Soc's and greasers weren't really supposed to hang out and I knew Curly would give me shit for it - well, that is if I ever got to talk to him again. Now that I knew Soda wasn't against snitching on me, I had to be way more careful if I ever wanted to talk to Curls again, which honestly sucked.

I'd had a bit of a crush on Delilah Moore for a long time, but since she was a Soc, I never talked to her. But now I had an excuse and I intended to take advantage of it. She had dark, brown eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair that she wore up. It showed off her cheekbones, and I thought she was awfully pretty.

"Hey, Delilah." I said, flashing a grin at her. I knew she was single, which meant I didn't have to deal with fools like Johnathan - I could just go for it.

"Hi, Pony." She said sweetly. Her voice sent shivers down my spine and I wondered what her hair smelled like. I wondered if she was a virgin, but quickly directed my thoughts away from that. Besides, I figured she was.

I spent almost the whole class just watching the way she chewed on the eraser of her pencil when she thought and didn't hear anything Mr. Dulton said.

"Mr. Curtis, do you have an answer for us?" He asked. My ears turned red with embarrassment, so I pulled up the hood on my jacket.

"Um..." I muttered, and I heard Delilah chuckle from beside me.

"See me after school, Mr. Curtis." He said shortly, and picked on one of the students with their hand raised. I wasn't sure why he didn't just do that in the first place, but it was whatever I guess.

I went back to watching Delilah carefully until the bell rang and pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Hey, Delilah, would you want to-" I started to ask, but she cut me off.

"Sorry, Ponyboy, I need to get to class." She said with a sweet smile and walked away. I cursed myself for even asking and walked out of the classroom.

The rest of the day went by fine. Curly wasn't even at school, which meant I didn't have to worry about trying to ignore him to please my big brothers. It wasn't like I had to sneak around at school, but I didn't know if one of Soda's friends would see me and report me to him so I wanted to be as careful as possible.

When the final bell rang, I almost left, but then remembered Delilah earlier, which made me remember Mr. Dulton. I groaned and turned on my heel to head to the biology room. When I walked in, the older man looked up from grading papers and gave me a stern look.

"That took you long enough." He said with a frown, and I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. It wasn't like it was my fault that there were literally no reminders for detention. I stood in front of his desk as he held out a detention slip for me to give to Darry. I took it and sat down in one of the empty seats.

After an hour of doodling on a spare piece of paper I had in my bag, Mr. Dulton finally gave the okay for me and the few other kids in detention to go. I sighed and trudged out of the school. Soda probably waited to pick me up, but by now he had probably headed home.

I walked into the front office and smiled at the secretary.

"Excuse me, ma'am." I said, mustering up all of the manners Darry had taught me. "Can I use the phone?"

She nodded with a sweet smile and handed it over to me.

I dialed Darry's work number, knowing that Soda would probably already be out of the house.
