Chapter Four

Light had to stop on typing on her laptop as soon as her phone went off and rang again, for the fifth time since this morning.

She was having a peaceful day since yesterday if not for Edric's constant bothering because he is still trying to get her to come into the resort where he is currently staying and working at the same time.

She was about to decline the call but when she peeked at her screen, she cannot help not to sigh when she realized that this time, it is her Mama Ari who is calling her. With Edric's courtesy, she guessed.

"Mama Ari, hi.", she greeted as soon as she answered the call. "How are you doing?"

"Light, my dearest. Your brother has been bombarding my phone with his calls, are you still not relenting to his antics? And I am perfectly well, thank you for asking. I hope you are too.", she heard her Mama Ari reply and say from the other side of the call.

She cannot help not to smile at what her Mama Ari said then.

"I'm okay as well and yes, I am thinking about dragging him back so I could at least have some peace of mind during my stay here.", she said with a laugh. "Anyway, it seems like I don't have much choice, Mama Ari. I will go to him within the day. I am just replying and reviewing some of my lawyer's emails from yesterday and the day before that."

"Oh. Edric told me about your plans, well, he slipped the last time that we have talked. But, are you really not going to change your mind about your plans?"

"No, Mama Ari.", she replied with conviction. "I am done with those properties anyway."

"If you say so. You would still have my support in whatever you think would make you happy, my dearest."

"And thank you for that, Mama Ari. I owe you my life from back then.", she said with sincerity.

Their conversation didn't take much of her time before her Mama Ari had to attend to a patient of hers and end the call. As soon as Light's phone screen dimmed, she went back to what she is doing and tried to finish all of it before lunch time.

She packed a few clothes together with her undergarments and stuffs that she might need before she freshened up and left her condo.

Since she didn't brought much with her, she decided to buy a few groceries so it wouldn't be a hassle for her and Edric when the latter decides to cook for them instead of dining out.

She is a bit familiar with what Edric usually buys when they are grocery shopping so it didn't take her too long before she drove to the resort that he asked her to come and visit two days ago.

Light was in the middle of the road when she had to answer his call then and as much as she wants to surprise him, she decided against it since she might encounter some misdirection so it would be real safe for her if she is going to inform him beforehand so he would at least expect her arrival.

The resort's location isn't familiar to her anyway and it is her first time to travel to the unknown just by herself.

"Did Mother successfully convince you, Saraqael?", he asked enthusiastically as soon as she answered his call and put it on speaker.

She cannot help not to smile at his greeting then. "Yes, your highness. I am actually on my way. Based on Google Maps, it is more or less a four-hour drive, right?"

"Finally! And yes, you are right. I cannot wait to finally see a familiar face."

She just shook her head at that.

"And you are going to cook.", she informed him in which he replied with a hum.

"I would. But you have to try the resort's best dishes first."
