Since sleep seemed to have other plans for her, Light decided to pack her things instead of wasting her time trying to count sheeps to lull her.

Edric did not come home even when she waited an hour past midnight. She almost got worried about him but then, she received a text message from Ezra, telling her that they were both wasted and Edric got it bad.

He assured her on his message that they didn't cause trouble and that her baby brother is well taken care of in his separate hotel room before he left him be.

It seems that they had to meet a potential investor last night or something that is business-related and beneficial for the both of them —that is, just her assumption, of course. Since Ezra isn't exactly the type of person who drinks out of whim, as far as she remembers.

Once she eliminated Edric out of the equation, she began to focus on her situation at hand.

She knows very well that Callan wouldn't leave her alone after last night. Maybe it is the reason why she cannot sleep even though Chaos advised her to do so when he dropped her off safely.

Deciding it would be pointless to force herself into taking a rest, she sent a message to Edric, telling him that she is going home sooner than expected and she left the copy of her keys under the rug right outside the cabin's front door.

It was a good thing that she still has the key of the car that she used when she traveled on her own, making it easier for her to leave the resort even though it's too sudden.

She could buy a new one, of course, if she were to be honest to herself the moment that she gave her Porsche already but she decided against it. She is going to leave anyway and she could buy a new one once she is settled with her Mama Ari.

All she has to do is finish selling her properties within the area —with Edric's connections, and avoid Callan at all costs, which she has failed to do so far because of the circumstances that she has no control over.

But she would change that now considering her situation at hand. She might sound like a coward but she most definitely doesn't want to deal with an angry Callan. He might have been out of his mind and just throw a string full of hurtful words but it nearly cost her the sanity that she has over the years.

She survived, obviously but it is something that she doesn't want to go through and live with again even after five years. She fears that she would definitely lose herself over and won't be saved anymore even by her Mama Ari and Edric if something similar happens again.

So with those thoughts in her mind, she dragged her luggage with her and put it at the back of Edric's other car despite the sun not being visible yet.

She could tell that she would have visitors a few hours from now and before she encounters them again, she would prevent it from happening by leaving first and preferably, not making any contact with them anymore during the duration of her stay within the area.

Light did message Lyric since she figured that she is the only one who is free from the hangover as soon as the sun comes out.

The four-hour drive from the resort went past in a blur when she was able to make it into a three-hour ride due to the lack of traffic and her unconscious craving for speed.

She isn't a reckless driver but she did thought of trying out a race car before, if that makes sense.

She arrived at her condo for breakfast time and since she wasn't hungry yet, she decided to take a nap first and rest, this time, with the comfort of being in her own turf.

It didn't take her long to wake up when she saw Edric's calls as well as her Mama Ari's. She just sent them both separate replies before she looked around her room and sighed.
