"Three!"

Purple hair danced in the air as a male got to the exit.

"Two!"

Galaxy eyes lit up the area in front of the person before shouts filled the air.

"One!"

He was outside as he hit something on his arm. The building exploded before the person took off down the street. The Dexters were going to the building, missing the boy as he quickly left the area and arrived at the house. He rushed inside and collapsed. A voice filled the air.

"Purple...?" Galaxy eyes touched brown ones as the boy called Purple stood up.

"Hey Cedar..." Cedar simply nodded before going into the kitchen.

"How was it?"

"Bleh. I was close." Cedar hummed as he tiredly cooked up a warm, delicious smelling meal for him. "Dexters are there, so the mission was a success."

"Good..." Cedar handed him a plate before they went to sit down. Purple paused.

"So... how's work?"

"Which one?"

"The... one... at the news place..."

"It's ok. I have to hand in a four page report by the end of the week, but I'm practically almost done."

"What about the others?" Cedar paused before he spoke.

"Uh... the two weekend jobs are decent... I might lose my spot in the one since the place is getting taken down. I'm not too sad. I was only there because it needed help. Uh... my night job has been draining and..." Cedar drifted off a bit before Purple smiled.

"You have what... 5 jobs?" Cedar nodded.

"There's... the news station, night job, cafe, I'm losing my spot in the wrapping place... there's also the bar and I'm signing up for the delivery thing after the one drops."

Purple gave a soft smile. While Cedar was a practical parent of the Dexters here and always overworking himself, it was always nice to hear him let out stuff that he held in. Between him, Cedar and their last ally, Midnight, they always were working and never got this chance. Purple finished his food before watching Cedar stare at his empty plate.

"So... what about you?" Purple purred.

"My... three jobs have been messy." Cedar glanced at him as he sipped the coffee that Cedar offered. "Job one has me running around and checking on the Fogs, while Job two has me checking the Stars. Then there's Job 3... much different. The boss is nice... employees are small in numbers... but it's a great place." Cedar nodded before Purple placed the mug down. "Cedar... what's wrong?" Cedar shook his head.

"Oh... the usual... wanting the others to stop... exhausted with everything... I could have an entire hour of my own time if the others just gave it to me..." Purple gently took his hands as the overworked mage looked at the table.

"Why haven't you told them?"

"Because they don't listen. Then again, they don't last long enough for me to get the words in their heads." Purple hummed as he gently rubbed the back of his hand. "Sure, I could catch them at the bar or cafe, but they don't listen and-"

"Cedar..." The brown haired male looked up at him as he paused. "You need help. I sadly don't have many of the same hours as you do... this is one of my only openings. I don't know what Midnight's hours are either... But we may need to get together and find more help." Cedar nodded as Purple smiled. "Now... I have to go... I have to get back to work. But the moment you get in contact with Midnight, we need to coordinate a time." Cedar nodded as he started collecting the dishes they had used.

"Yeah... I have to get cleaned up and-" Purple took the dishes from his shaky hands and helped him get them washed. "Purple-"

"Cedar... relax. Go get ready to go. I know you have a job right now. Assuming it'll be standing." Cedar paused before he smiled and headed for his room. Purple quickly cleaned up the mess before putting everything away and calling up to Cedar. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"No death..." He heard before silence followed. Purple smiled before heading out and racing into the shadows.
