A mysterious pink light struck someone in the back of the head before they paused.

'Keep walking. Go to the nearest alley and grab the box there. Then find the Dexters and give it to them.'

The person instantly followed the directions.

^~*~^

The Dexters were so confused when the box came to them. Someone watched them as they opened it to a bunch of letters all to someone in the group. The person then chuckled.

"Oh... should've put on top what all that is. Oops." They then raced off as the confusion really set in.

^~*~^

The person arrived at the Dexters' practical dumpyard as a small noise escaped it. They went in and called out.

"Cedar?" The brown haired male came out from the kitchen with a pause. "Don't you have work?"

"The... place closed down today. This was the last day." The person nodded as he paused. "What are you doing, Midnight?"

"Wanted to see how you were doing." Cedar gave a weak smile before he went back into the kitchen, leaving Midnight to follow. He paused as Cedar sat at a table with a form. "Are you getting another job?" Cedar purred.

"I was waiting to see how long the job at the wrapping place was going to last before I signed up for the delivery place that caught my attention. And since that wasn't very long, I can do this." Midnight sighed as he sat down opposite the overworked male.

"Cedar, you already have four jobs. Just rest." Cedar gave a weak smile.

"Midnight... I'll be fine. I chose this." Midnight hummed lightly before Cedar paused. "What about you? I see scars." Midnight instantly got shy as his hand moved a sleeve, hiding the scars. "Midnight..."

"Heh..." Midnight gave a weak smile. "I... it's been tough... I have been working hard between at least 6 jobs... maybe more..." Cedar put his pen down in concern.

"Midnight, I don't even work that many jobs. Have you been taking care of yourself?" The lack of a response got Cedar to get up and move towards the counter. He grabbed some ingredients before he spoke, hoping to get something from the small male. "What jobs are you doing?" Midnight paused, now seeing Cedar had moved.

"I... I have three delivery jobs, two collecting jobs... I'm in an aid job that works with the whole city... there's my personal job... and then there's the daycare I help Pichu with. Pichu has two other jobs as well..." Cedar paused as his eyes drifted over to the small creature, which rested at Midnight's feet.

"Did you guys just get an opening?"

"No... we're able to open ourselves up at almost any time. The daycare is the only job that has exact hours we need to do." Cedar hummed as the gentle smell filled the air. MIdnight's face lit up while Pichu woke up to the smell. Cedar smiled at that as he plated the food and brought it over.

"You should start stopping by more. Maybe come when Purple stops by. He always has an opening at about 11 and another at 21." Midnight paused as he eyed the small schedule that rested on the fridge. Since Cedar was one of the few people in the kitchen, he didn't have to hide the trio's schedule. He then spoke.

"I can... start coming around 21. I can't make 11." Cedar smiled as he placed the food down. Pichu thanked him as it ate up. Midnight paused before smiling and joined his partner. "This is good..." Cedar smiled as he finished the application.

"Glad you like it. Have you been taking care of yourself?" Midnight paused.

"I've been trying. But it's hard when I don't know when I'll get a break." Cedar paused as he finished the food and grabbed the device on his belt. "That's my cue to go... lovely..." Cedar frowned as Pichu paused. "Pichu, you finish eating. Your next job is later. This is a delivery. I'll meet you later at the workshop." Pichu nodded as he nodded to Cedar. "Thanks for the food. I hopefully will see you at 21."

Then he was gone. It was unknown where he went, but it gained a sigh from Cedar. Pichu finished with a pleased noise. Cedar picked up its plate before he paused.

"You're welcome Pichu. I'm going to start looking into something to help the two of you. Because it concerns me that you are like this."

Pichu smiled in gratitude before it grabbed the bag that just caught Cedar's eyes. It then waved before leaving. Cedar sighed before going over and writing down in a small notebook. This was the list for the team of Dexters that were against the chaos.

"We'll get there... all of us..."
