Part 1 - Dating App

Josephine

After a long week at work, it's Friday and I can leave work early today and I can go out for a drink with my bestie. I'm working in a London company as a programmer and I have a flexible program, but in the last weeks I had a lot of work to do, but finally that time is over.

I leave work after I wish a great weekend to my work-mates and I go to my car. It's 3 pm and I will meet Lisa at 6 pm at our favorite pub, The Red Lion in Mayfair because it's close to both our homes.

As soon as I arrive home, I eat some leftovers from yesterday, then I go to take a shower where I will relax my muscles after a long week of work. As I finish my shower, I feel refreshed and I wrap my body in my fluffy robe, while I walk into my dressing to chose something to wear. As it's the beginning of September, in London started the windy time and I have to wear something warmer, so I opt for some black jeans, a black turtleneck and my denim jacket. I put these clothes on the bed and I go to blow dry my hair. When I'm done, I make some lose curls and then I put some light make-up on my face. When I look at the clock, it's almost 5 pm, so I should leave soon. I quickly get dressed, I put everything I need in my bag, I put on my converse and I leave my apartment.

I arrive at the pub around 6 pm and I don't see Lisa here yet, so I go to the bar, waiting for her.

"What can I get for you?" The bartender asks me.

"Hm... A mojito, please."

"Good."

She prepares my cocktail and when she's done, I see Lisa coming to me.

"Make another one, please."

"Ok, then." She starts to prepare another cocktail and Lisa is next to me, so I get down from the high chair and I hug her.

"Hello girl."

"Hi! I ordered our first round of drinks."

"Mojito, nice start." She says and she takes her drink. "Let's go to a table, it's mor intimate." She giggles as I take my glass and we walk to a two-person table. "How was your week?" She asks me taking a sip of her drink.

"Tiring as hell. We had a big project and we had to work hard in the last weeks, but now I can finally breath and I can work again from home."

"So, finally you're free."

"Yep. Finally. That's why next week I'm going to have a SPA Day."

"I'm jealous."

"I would love if you can join me."

"Ugh, sorry. My boss is sending me in a business trip in Paris, so I can't come. I never would let Paris for a SPA Day."

"Maybe next time."

"Definitely."

"So? How was your date on Tuesday?"

"Eh, he wasn't very interesting, so I told him very nicely that he's not my type and that's all."

"But I thought this guy was hot and nice. What happened?"

"He was a nerd. He lied about everything on his profile. But when I'm back from Paris, I will start to find a guy again."

"Oh, nice."

"And you? Have you thought about creating a profile on this dating app? Maybe you can spice up your life a little. Sitting in the front of a laptop all day long, it's not good for your health, darling."

"I don't know. I'm not trusting this 100%, Lis..."

"But maybe you can find the love of your life on this app. You should try."

"I don't know what to say."

"Don't think, just do it, Josephine! You need someone. You are 25 and you had a single long relationship. And this ended when you came to London for college."

"I'm a little bit scared."

"You don't have any reason to be scared. Just create a profile and find hottie for your soul. And maybe who know, he will be the one. You don't have anything to lose, girl! I'm going to bring another round of drink, okay?"

"Yeah." She leaves our table and I open my phone. I look on App application and I search Dating App and I decide to download it. As she said, I won't lose anything if I just create this account. When the downloading process is done, I enter in the app and I press the button create a new account. I type my name, my age, my email address and then I have to add some pictures with me.

"Ugh, someone decided to do a big step?" I hear her behind me.

"Shit, Lisa! You scared me!"

"I'm really sorry, girl. But good choice to do this. Oh, don't forget to put there some hot pictures with you. In this way you will have more candidates."

"Lisa!" I giggle.

"At least, put your pictures from our Ibiza trip. In your sexy red swimsuit."

"No. That swimsuit shows too much." I will see at home what pictures to put."

"No, no, no. Let's do this together. And you have to stop being shy. Let me pick some pictures for you." She takes my phone from my hands.

"Lisa! Give it back!"

"No! Please, be patient and let me do this."

"Ugh, ok!" She smiles and I look at her while she searches for some pictures with me.

After a few moments, she gives my phone back and I look to see what she chooses. There are four pictures and I like them. (pictures in media)

"Well, I like them."

"Now, let's find a hottie for Josephine. Push the button Find a match and if you like the guy, swipe to the right, and swipe to the left if you don't like him. And if you and him have the same subject, it will be a match."

"Ok, thanks." I turn off my phone and I take a sip of my drink.

"What are you doing?"

"You don't want me to find someone right now, right?"

"Of course, I do. I want to see what you choose. C'mon, let's find a dick for you."

"Lisa!"

"See? You need one because the abstinence is not good for you, girl."

"Lisa, please. Stop."

"C'mon, Josie! Don't be a prick. You need to find someone. Maybe just for fun now."

"I don't know... I'm working a lot."

"And what? A one night-stand won't kill anybody."

"Ugh, ok, fine!" I open my phone and I go to that dating app and I start to find man. Every man I see, I swipe to the left because I don't like any of them.

"You don't like him?" She says while I swipe.

"Nope." I continue to swipe until I find a guy which seems to be nice.

"Uh, he is definitely hot."

"He really is. Hero Fiennes Tiffin. 25. He likes football and he works as a programmer for Apple. Ugh, he's pretty. I like him, so I swipe to the right and on the screen appears It's a match!.

"Guuuurl! He's hot and you need to let him in your pants. Send him a message."

"No. That's all. For today I'm done with this app. I want to have fun with you."

"But you have to go on a date with him."

"We will see."
