Hero

Josephine is upstairs with little Lucas to feed and change him, and I sit in the living room watching the news.

I hear a knock at the door and I go to open. It's Mercy. I fought with her over the phone, because she was too insistent to come here and see the baby, but I gave up. I couldn't let my little sister to be mad at me.

"Hi, bro!" She hugs me. "Where's your baby boy and his mother?"

"They are upstairs, Josephine is feeding him. Can you stay here until she's done?"

"Sure!" She sits on the couch.

"You didn't send any pictures with him..."

"Because we wanted to enjoy our time with him, Mercy. Do you want something to drink?"

"Yeah, some tea will be good."

"Then come with me to make a tea."

We walk to the kitchen where I turn on the kettle to make some tea.

"I see you're feeling like home here."

"Because Josephine told me this. Okay?"

"Are you sure you don't feel more, Hero?"

"I am sure, Mercy. Me and Josephine are good friends and parents of Lucas."

"Okay, I believe you. It's just Lucas?"

"Lucas George Langford-Tiffin." I smile and I can see a tear on her cheek. "Josephine picked his second name."

"If I would be a man or lesbian, I would definitely marry her. She's so nice and kind! She named your kid after our father because she knew how much he wanted to meet his grandson."

"I know she is. What tea do you want?"

"Black tea."

"Okay. Ugh, I'm going upstairs to see if Josephine wants some tea."

"Fine."

I walk upstairs to Josephine's room. The door is cracked open, but I knock.

"Come on in!" I enter in her room and I can hear the little guy sucking his mother's nipple.

"Mercy is here. And I wanted to ask if you want some tea."

"Uhm, yes. I have a tea for lactation. It is in a green and pink box."

"Alright. He's okay?" I look at Lucas.

"Yeah. He's almost done. I'll burp him and we will come downstairs."

"Take your time." I smile and I go back to Mercy. I take our three cups, then I take tea for everyone. Blqck tea for me and Mercy and the special tea for Josephine.

"How's the baby upstairs?"

"They will come soon here." I turn off the kettle and I pour water in our cups.

"Thanks. Milk?"

"Yeah, right." I go to the fridge and I take the milk, handing it to Mercy.

A few minutes later, I hear some steps and Josephine comes in the kitchen, but Lucas is not here.
