Chapter 12: She's Here

Lily's POV

It was later that evening and Cleo and Thomas were still there. They bombarded me with question after question. They wanted to know why Jake was here, what progress we've made, where Makenzie was and many many other questions. Jake was still hard at work trying to piece out the puzzle Makenzie and Hannah had left for us. We eventually joined Jake in the office.

"So this is all your notes from Hannah?" Thomas asked.

"No, they are from Makenzie." Jake replied sadly.

"Wait you've heard from her!?" Thomas fired back. Jake hesitated but,

"No, she sent me this a few days ago and then went back to offline. I haven't heard anything from her. " He looked devastated by saying those words out loud.

"So she did all this?" Cleo asked.

"Yeah." I said smiling.

"Wow." Thomas whistled. Just then all our phones buzzed at the same time. I whipped mine out and say a message from the group chat.

Jessy: Hey were is everyone?

Dan: We have some news

Jessy: We visited Phil

Dan: We need to meet up.

I text back immediately

Lily: We're all at my house. What's up?

Jessy: Urgent we need to talk all of us!

Dan: You started the party without us! :((

Jessy: We have some really important news. Can we come to your house??

Lily: Sure...

Jessy: Thx

Dan: Be there in a few.

I wonder what they needed. "Hey Dan and Jessy on their way. They have some really important news apparently."

"When are they going to be here?" Cleo asked

"In a few minutes." I replied.

"What about Jake?" Thomas asked. I looked at my brother.

"I guess I'll be meeting them then," he huffed. They arrived a few minutes later, Jessy came in all in a rush and Dan was close behind her. I didn't even get a chance to open the door, when she banged on it, before she flew through it.

"We have a problem people..." She stopped short when she noticed a second man that wasn't Richy. "Who is that?" Both newcomers looked at Jake intensely.

"Guys, this is my brother, Jake. Jake meet Jessy and Dan." The both of them looked dumbfounded.

"Jake as in the Jake? The Hacker Jake?" Jessy asked, incredulous.

"In the flesh." Thomas smirked.

"Hello Jessica, Dan." Jake said, again looking uncomfortable. I didn't know if he was socially awkward or if he just was nervous or something.

"Wait is Makenzie here then?" Jessy asked, excitement, relief and nerves seeming to all be present on her face all at once.

"No..." Jake said.

"Has she gotten back to any of you?" Dan asked the group.

"She hasn't said anything or been online in days." I told them. Jake once again deflated at the conversation. I felt bad for him, he seemed to really miss Makenzie. I was going to have to give her a piece of my mind when she returned. I wondered where the he** she was...
