Her Smile ~ Lily Evans x Fem Reader

Chapter 2

September 2nd, 1976 

Y/N woke up to her alarm, practically falling out of bed when trying to shut off the alarm clock. Once forcing herself to get up, she stood up tiredly, and walked to the foot of her bed to grab her uniform from her trunk. She easily found her skirt and button down shirt, but had to dig deep into the trunk to find her Gryffindor tie. 

Since the bathroom door was closed, she knew it wad occupied and waited until the girl occupying it walked out. Y/N sat on her bed, trying not to fall asleep again, as Lily came out of the bathroom with wet hair and her uniform on. She walked over to her bed and grabbed her wand before quickly preforming a drying spell onto her hair. It dried at once and the ginger locks flowed down her back beautifully, or so Y/N thought. 

'Wish I could look like her, with her beautiful hair and perfect smile," Y/N thought while walking to the bathroom. Once she made it into the seperate room she shut the door and turned on the shower. She stripped her pajamas off of her body before stepping into the shower, hot water hitting her back instantly. 

When she finished her shower, she stepped out, grabbing a towel to dry herself off with. She walked over to the bathroom counter, where her uniform lay, before changing into it and not putting on her tie just yet. She finished getting ready in the bathroom, brushing her teeth, putting on deodorant and perfume, and other things she usually did for her morning 'routine'. She walked out of the bathroom before grabbing her wand and using a drying spell on her hair. After her hair was dry she walked into the bathroom to fix the messy look. 

Y/N grabbed her school books and stuffed them into her satchel before opening the door to her dorm and stepping out. "Y/N, you forgot to tie your tie," Lily said from behind Y/N, looking at the tie that draped over her shoulders. "I forgot how to tie it over the summer," The y/h/c(your hair color) girl shrugged. Lily sighed, "Come here," she said waving her hand towards herself. Y/N walked back to lily's bed where the redhead stood, putting all of her books in her satchel. She turned back towards Y/N and started to do up her tie, since Y/N had somehow forgot over the course of two months. 

When the tie was done up the two friends walked down to breakfast together. In the great hall, everyone was sitting at their respective tables and minding their own business, except for Snivellous. The greasy haired git kept on staring at Lily, but she just ignored it, even though the feeing of his eyes on her burned into her skin. "What're you looking at, Snivellous?" Y/N mocked at him, but the slytherin just rolled his eyes, though he did slightly shrink back into his seat. 

The two girls finally got to their seats and Lily sat across from Dorcas while Y/N sat beside Marlene, who was beside Dorcas, and across from Mary. As usual, Alice was nowhere to be found except beside Frank. When Y/N caught sight of her, Frank and Alice were sucking each others face off, well thats what it looked like anyway.

Y/N practically had to drag not only herself but Sirius back to the common room after their last class of the day, Potions. The 6th years had been assigned a ton of homework and it was too much to fit into Y/N's satchel. She had to carry half of it in her hands while supporting Sirius so he wouldn't collapse. She thought about dropping him, but he would act really dramatic and Y/N didn't feel like dealing with it at that moment. 

After arriving back at the common room, Sirius and Y/N collapsed on a couch and chair, throwing their school bags on the floor. James, who was sitting in one of the most comfortable chairs looked at the both of them quizzically. "Homework, lots and lots of homework," Sirius said to his best friend, noticing his confused expression. James rolled his eyes, knowing how dramatic Sirius and Y/N could be. 

The rest of their friends walked in, talking to eachother, except for Peter who was busy stuffing  a cauldron cake into his mouth. They all sat around the common room, complaining about the amount of homework they had received. James, yet again, rolled his eyes at all of them. It's not that much, we've had more than this before," "Not on the first day!" Marlene replied. 

Remus picked his satchel back up from beside him and got out his transfiguration homework, along with a quill and ink. When he started on his homework, sirius stood up from his seat and layed ontop of Remus and his work. The tall boy glared at him, while Sirius just winked, his face turning into shock when Remus shoved him off of his homework. Remus hummed in satisfaction while Sirius lay dramatically limp on the floor, while everyone stared at the two of them. 

Mary was the first to break the slience. "Well, I'm going to go freshen up before dinner starts," She said, beginning to head up the stairs to the girls' dormitories. She left her satchel and Lily caught sight of this. "Im gonna head upstairs too, gonna do my homework in a comfortable bed instead of in a noisy common room," She said, picking up both her and Mary's satchels. 

About 30 minutes after Lily had headed up to the dorm, Y/N, Dorcas, and Marlene decided to go up as well. On their way towards the staircase, Y/N almost tripped over her own feet, considering her eyes were focused on the words on the pages of her books instead of looking where she was going. In the dorm Mary was putting on a few thick layers of mascara, probably to impress her new boyfriend, which everyone knew would be gone within the next week as she quickly moved onto another person. Lily was, as she said, doing her homework on her bed, lying on her stomach, propped up on her elbows. 

Y/N layed down on her bed, nose still in het book. Dorcas and Marlene put in a team effort to get Mary out of the bathroom and madcara taken out of her hand, before her eyelashes started to look like literal spiders. After successfully detaching Mary from her makeup, the girls talked for a little while before deciding to head downstairs to go to dinner.
