Chapter 24: Espeon

Nate's pov

I defeated Hugh and went back to the room where everyone was staying at. Rosa didn't look good... She looked the same as I saw her in Nimbasa... she ran out before I could even check her temperature

"What's with her?" Hugh asked

'It seems that her shadow is trying to leave again' Victini said while sitting on Cheren's head

"What!?" Hugh and I gasped. wait... I get why I said 'what' but why did he say 'what'? "Why!?" I asked

'She's over thinking..' Meloetta frowned, sitting on Blades head

"About her parents?" She looked down

'Espeon...' Blade made a face

"My Espeon?" She nodded "why would think about..." his eyes widened "wait... don't tell me... she's the one that abandoned him!"

"What? No! Rosa would never abandon a Pokemon! She works hard to save them!"

"But..." he looked up at Meloetta frowning guiltily

"Meloetta, what do you know? I'm tired of you hiding things from us. come on... don't do this" I frowned. she covered her eyes, shook her head and disappeared "Meloetta!" Victini frowned and disappeared as well

"Victini!" Blade called. why did the both of them leave?

"First round!" The announcer said. we turned our attention on the screen. Rosa was standing behind Ampharos standing in front of a Munna

"Oh! She's battling!" Blade said "I wonder how she share her bond with Pokemon even after long years of a dark heart" I stared at Rosa rubbing on her arm. oh Rosa...

"There won't be a show" Hugh said

"Huh?"

"She'll surprise you" Cheren smiled. I smiled and closed my eyes

"There won't be a show, it'll be over before the opponent could do anything" I have confidence in her...

The camera zoomed in to her face, she wore a blank face and closed her eyes. the camera changed positions and showed Ampharos in front of her

"Begin!" The announcer announced

"Thunder" Rosa commanded flatly, turning away. Ampharos did the same and had her orb on her tail light up and attack the Munna like nothing. All her Pokemon got the chance to battle and she was declared was the winner! Everyone was really shocked but cheered like crazy. Blade's jaw dropped. I chuckled

"She also has 5 badges" he looked at me surprised "even though she doesn't want to battle in gyms, Meloetta makes her" he smiled and closed his eyes

"Just like Angel..." Rosa didn't come back after her fight. I was now going against Blade after Colress done his battle. I noticed him here earlier, but didn't bother greeting him if he acts like I'm not here

I don't know if I'm ready to challenge the second champion... He's really powerful and I'm not sure if I can handle it. I mean, I believe in my Pokemon, but I don't train my Pokemon hard core like Rosa does on her own. But I'm going to give it my best shot

Okay... no... I lost, bad. Hugh laughed at my disappointed face "cheer up man! It's only natural! He's the champion after all!"

"Second" Blade corrected "I'm only filling in for Angel until she comes back to Unova" Cheren pat his back

"Still can't beat her to claim her spot, huh?" He laughed
