Rosie stood up from the cold floor, dusting her shorts and wiping her hands on the side of her t-shirt. She sighed heavily when she realized what she had to do now. She didn't want to go out and face zombies again. Why couldn't she stay in and wait for the rescuers to come and get her? That's right! She didn't know if they'd come or not. It was stupid, really, how they thought students would call them again and again to report about a zombie apocalypse as a prank. Were they really so dumb and thick-headed to just let it go even after getting multiple calls regarding the situation concerning Hyosan High School.
She looked through the glass of the door to see if there were any zombies around. There were. She exhaled heavily, knowing that it'd be very difficult to cross them. And she didn't really want to climb using the metal pipe. She felt tired too. She hadn't eaten properly and she was very thirsty. What did she do to deserve all of this happening to her? Surely nothing, right? She has always been kind to people around her, always having faith in them even if they had completely lost hope. She just wished for it all to end as soon as possible.
Taking a deep breath, she clutched her pocket-knife tighter in her right hand, bringing it closer to her. She was actually scared to step outside to face the zombies when she remembered how she had barely made it safe inside an empty classroom the last time she had an encounter with them. She wiped the sweat that rolled down her cheek, onto her neck. She gulped nervously before opening the door with a loud thud, attracting the attention of the zombies. When they started coming her way, growling and snarling, she ran towards the other side of the classroom where the other door was.
She opened it quickly, slamming it shut behind her. She started running the opposite way, glancing back to see some of the zombies following her. Quickening her pace, she slipped a little when she had to turn around a corner, almost knocking herself into a zombie. She regained her balance, pushing a zombie – giving herself a push.
As she was turning around a corner, she bumped into someone. Thinking that it was a zombie, she stood up immediately, pointing her knife towards her.
"Woah, woah, Rosie!" Cheongsan exclaimed.
"Cheongsan?" she looked over his right shoulder, widening her eyes a fraction, she held his hand and forced him to run with her. He stumbled a little at first, but quickly fell into steps with her. "What are you doing out here alone? Are you out of your fucking mind? Where are the others?"
He kicked a zombie before running faster to catch up with her. He looked at her as if she was crazy. As he was about to answer her, she interrupted him.
"What are you looking at, you dumbfuck? Never seen me before? I asked you question. Answer me!"
"Are you fucking kidding me?" he shouted, getting the attention of more zombies. "You can't lecture me on this after the stupid shit you pulled! Do you even know how much worried we were? How much worried Gyeong-su was? You just left without telling us, and we didn't even know when you left and why you left."
The number of zombies advancing towards them just kept on increasing. She looked around her, it was looking bad for them.
"Come on," she urged him to run faster. "I think there's an empty classroom somewhere ahead."
"How do you know that?" he asked, out of breath. He didn't play any sport, which was the reason why he had trouble catching up.
"I just know," she replied. She looked towards her right where the classrooms were. Passing a door, she saw the inside of a classroom through the glass. She didn't spot any zombie there. She looked behind her, the zombies had yet to catch up with them – they were actually pretty far. She pushed Cheongsan inside the classroom, slamming the door shut and blocking it with one of the wooden sticks that were scattered out.
"Yah, what the heck are you doing?" he banged on the door, looking at her like she was crazy. "Are you on a suicide mission?"
"You need to be safe," she held her pocket-knife tigher. "Take care of yourself, Cheongsan. I'll see you later. Don't do anything stupid."
"Just come in, Rosie. It'll be safer. Don't walk away again," he requested her to stay, not wanting her to face any more danger.
She nodded her head, completely ignoring what he just said. "Don't do anything stupid."
Before he could do or say something, she ran away, a swarm of zombies following her.
hope y'all are okay! <3
