Gwi-nam had come up out of the blue, but the good thing was that Nam-ra punched him and threw him away – like literally threw him. Rosie couldn't witness it though. She was fighting for her life. She really regretted her decision; she wished she would've listened to Suhyeok and not be a stubborn brat. That was the problem. Even is she thought at that moment that she was being stubborn and a brat, she wouldn't admit it later.

She should've seen it coming. She was so consumed in believing that she could save everyone, she didn't think about herself. If she ended up saving everyone, who would save her? Gyeong-su? Suhyeok? No, she didn't want them to risk their lives for her. After she sacrificed so much to save them, and they came back towards the danger to save her – it'd make her mad to no end – and an angry Rosie is someone nobody want to encounter.

So her heartbeat quickened when she saw the doors of the rooftop open. She struggled to avoid getting caught by the zombies as she tried to make her way up. Her breathing started to get heavy – from the adrenaline or the panic, she didn't know, but she didn't like it.

To her, it felt like everything was in slow motion as she watched Gyeong-su run towards her to help her. She hated it – to be helped by putting someone else's life in danger. She wished that people understood that she didn't want to live with the guilt that someone died or got hurt by saving her. She didn't want to imagine how it would feel like.

And against her best wishes, he helped her, and she accepted it. It was a short distance, but they still ran towards the door to get out of danger as soon as possible. How would it be if they were on the other side of the door? Would they finally be relieved? Would they be rescued? Will they survive? Will they be safe?

Late. It was too late. No matter how hard they tried, how fast they were, the zombies still managed to catch up with the duo. Luckily for her, they got ahold of her, not him. They were many. Even if they would try to beat them, they would fail, and she knew it. So when Rosie struggled against their grip, Gyeong-su stopped rushing towards the door and turned to look at her. His eyes widened, his voice full of shock and panic, "Rose –"

"– I'm okay," she cut him off. "You have, no, need to go."

"I'm not leaving without you!" he protested. Leave without her? Was she really so stupid to think that he'd leave her alone in this situation when she saved his life not only once but many times? This was the girl he's in love with, there's no chance he hell he'd be leaving her.

"It's not like you have a choice," she said hurriedly. She wanted him to get out. If she couldn't, she wanted him to be safe and sound, she wanted him to be alive.

Knowing he wouldn't listen, she struggled to take a step closer to him, but she succeeded. She knew it was stupid – that she shouldn't do it, but she did. She pressed her lips against his, enjoying the butterflies and warmth she felt throughout her body. His eyes widened a fraction, but he composed himself, kissing her back like his life depended on it.

She resisted the urge to yell in pain when she felt a zombie biting her shoulder. Her eyes were closed, but they still brimmed with tears. She slowly moved towards the door, him not noticing it because of the feeling of her lips on his.

It was true: the best feeling in the world is kissing someone for the first time when you've really wanted to kiss them for a long time.

Gyeong-su has waited for this moment for so long, but he never once believed for it to happen.

But the happiness, the calmness, the unique – the perfect feeling ever was short-lived.

Late. It was too late. He realized it when she gently pushed him on the other side of the door, on the rooftop. To him, everything seemed to move in slow motion as he watched the doors closing as soon as he entered; he made eye contact with Rosie – his Rose – and she smiled sweetly at him as if nothing was wrong, as if the zombies were not all over her, biting her to make her one of them. And as if it wasn't enough heartbreaking enough, she mouthed, "I love you."

And he understood it. And he watched with tearful eyes as she struggled with the pain, tears finally dropping from her eyes and rolling on her rosy cheeks. And as the metal door closed with a loud thud, he finally broke down. Dropping harshly on his knees, he continued to stare at the door.

Suhyeok looked around after sharing a loving hug with Nam-ra. He furrowed his brows, asking loudly, "Where's Rose?"

Nobody answered, because nobody knew except Gyeong-su. And then they all looked at him.

She died. She died to save you, Gyeong-su. She died to save all of us. She kept on sacrificing herself, she kept on putting herself in danger so that you all could get out safely. And when the time came, you couldn't save her.

The mind is a very cruel thing. It makes you believe the things that aren't even actually true. It makes you torture yourself; it makes you feel sad, pain, horrible. It makes you feel miserable. We often ignore other people's words just so we can suffer in our own misery – the misery playing itself in our mind. It's stupid, really, how we ignore the truth spewing from other people's mouth and focus on our overthinking, forceful mind which has proven to be our enemy many times.

And everyone understood what happened with Rosie as soon as Gyeong-su uttered the words painfully, in the most heartbroken voice nobody has ever heard from him – or anyone around them. His voice was barely above a whisper, but they heard him still.

"She broke her promise."

very rushed, i know. hopefully, y'all like it :)
