PROOF READ
Genjo sat in his room, reading the letters from his sisters, he huffs in amusement at some of the points (mainly at Aryas letter), he continues to read all day, hoping to get some news from his mother.
Later in the day he is joined by Rickon, the boy climbing his older brother, who gives in and holds the boy, he takes him to the courtyard where they watch some of the Stark soldiers train, then they go to visit the wolves, Ember and Greywind fight, making Rickon laugh. The sight of his baby brother happy makes Genjo smile, hoping to keep the boy happy, he takes him to the stables, he walks over to his horse, Swift, Rickon reaches out to stroke the gentle beast, the small boy giggles when the horse huffs onto his hand "tickles", Genjos smile brightens hearing his brother.
The mute boy turns when he hears foot steps, he sees an older man step forward. The sunlight hits the sky blue eyes, making them shine bright; the man is still unaware of the brothers, which Genjo is thankful for, the man before him has been Genjos crush since the age of 13. When he finally turns, the man freezes, hand going to his sword, then he smiles lightly, watching Genjo hold his brother up.
"Hello, my lord. I didn't know you were visiting today", his voice is deep and smooth as he approaches Genjos horse, softly running his hand along its side, "how have you been?"
Genjo puts Rickon back on his feet, nudging him from the stables, he then turns back to the man 'I've been good, Adonis', he then takes a second, face becoming somber, 'or as good as I can be', the man, Adonis, watches the hands of the Stark boy.
When he looks up, he sees Genjo turning away, embarrassed, fiddling with his hands, instantly the man smiles, "I'm sorry, I am learning. Could you please repeat it, slower", Genjo does, and the smile on Adonis's face widens, "what's wrong, my lord?"
They both sit on a bale of hay, 'my family is divided, my brother, I fear for him', he looks up to the sky, 'he doesn't think, and the weight of the north is on his shoulders', he moves his hands slow, allowing the man beside him to read them clearly.
"Well, that's why he has you, isn't it?", Genjo looks to him confused, "the most beautiful, intelligent and skilled fighter in the North", a blush spreads across the youngers cheeks, not use to being complemented so obviously by another man. "I believe, that you are here, in this world to keep it balanced", Genjo only watches as the man becomes more passionate, "a boy who can't speak, yet is the best swords man, best archer and the best diplomat. You're here because the world needs you, the people need you", he stares into the ice blue eyes of Genjo.
'Thank you, Adonis. You're too kind', he smile shyly at the man.
"Maybe, that's because you deserve it"
The two stare at each other, lost in the others eyes. Genjo shakes his head, not wanting his thoughts to get the best of him, 'I must go, I have duties', Adonis nods, disappointed, watching the northern beauty leave, and even then he swears he'll never see something so bright again.
In the courtyard, Robb is stood, deep in thought, a tap on his shoulder makes him turn, "brother, are you having a good day?", there's a small smile on his face, but Genjo can see the stress beginning to settle in.
'A better one than you, I'm guessing', he looks around the courtyard, 'you need to get things in hand, men are walking round with nothing to do'
Robb also looks round, raising his arms, "and what should they be doing?", he stares at his brother.
'Preparing', Robb looks perplexed at this, 'winter is coming, you know the words, we need to be ready for it. Maester Luwin says it should be the coldest in history, we will need to be ready'
Robb nods at his brother, trusting his intelligence, but he can see something else is bothering him, "what else is wrong?", he watches his younger brothers face.
'I have a strange feeling, that we will need to be ready for something else'
"What?", Robb asks firmly.
'War' Genjo then walks away, his mind full of only the worst outcomes and a future of war and loss.
