I heard a door slam open and voices so loud the floor was shaking, from two floors down. I went to close my balcony door when I heard a female say,

"What the fuck did you do Corbyn?" It wasn't my Elyse.

"You know damn well that I'm right. She's been nothing but trouble and now this! She will put my pack and any future kids in danger."

"If something happens to her you won't have a pack to worry about anymore!" I guess that was one of his guys.

"Watch it Zeyden. I'm still your Alpha!"

"But you're not mine!" I heard her brother say and I guess he punched him. "She is gone because of you! She took off and we couldn't catch her!"

"All of you get out!" He roared and I heard them leave. I listened a little more and heard him click the light off. Well, maybe this isn't going to be as bad as I thought. I pulled my phone out and called Ezra.

"Dude, it's 2:00 in the morning what the.... Did you know Elyse ran away?"

"That's why I called, I just over-heard. I didn't know if they would say anything."

"We are all meeting in the main hall, go use your stalking abilities and text me when you find her."

"Yup!" I hung up as I landed on the ground, it was quicker to jump than to take the stairs. I instantly picked up her scent, my nose is trained just for her scent, honeysuckle. The first time I smelled it, I went home and asked my mom to have some planted in the garden. Her trail led me to a tree. Her clothes were in a pile and it looked like all her jewelry was on top. Her scent stopped five feet away from her clothes. Shit. She's smart, she masked her scent. I sent Ezra a text telling him as I followed the little signs, like a broken twig on a bush or a little tuft of her fur. I'll find you my princess, even if you don't want to be found.

I was two miles passed the palace border when I heard snarls a few feet ahead. I jumped into the trees and moved through them. She was surrounded by eight rogues, it looks like she took four down already. Impressive. I texted Ezra the location before I made a decision, he texted back to only help if needed. I watched as she took two more down. It was like watching ballet, her movements were graceful. She has a couple of small wounds, nothing serious. And then I watched the last six rush her at the same time from all sides. They were about two feet from her when I jumped down and landed in front of her, going after the two in front. I must have distracted her because she let out a howl as a rogue to her right slashed her side open. But the next minute she snapped that one's neck. I took two more down while she went after the last one. I snapped their necks and turned around as she fell. I quickly took the last one out then went to her. She shifted back, she lost a lot of blood. She looked up at me and said.

"You should have let them kill me." Then she passed out.

"Sorry sweetheart, I can't let that happen." I could hear her breathing, I moved the hair from her face. "I won't ever let you die." I whispered as I jumped back up to the tree and waited for them to show up, which was literally two minutes later. Ezra shifted and threw a blanket over her, looked at me and nodded. I turned around and made my way back to the palace. We are all going to be tired in the morning.
