When they said my name, I walked to the doors as they opened. Mom taught me what to do. After we were ready, she gave me my tiara, with tears in her eyes and told me she's been dreaming of this day for a long time. I have never been so nervous as I am right now. All I thought was how I was going to fall and how maybe the dress was a bad call.
'Head up girl! We are a fucking princess, an actual princess and our real life prince is waiting for us.' Aurora said, hyping me up. I stopped at the top step like I was supposed to. Goddess, there are so many people here. I want to turn and run. I searched the crowd and found my family, Rylie and Kay were wiping their eyes. Then I looked at the bottom of the stairs. He looked gorgeous in his suit. My legs started moving before my mind was ready. I didn't take my eyes off of Jaxon. Even when I heard a few growls, I was pretty sure of who it was. I watched as he looked down my body, when he looked backup the lust was clear in his eyes. Well, I definitely got the reaction I wanted from him. I got down to the last step and he put his hand out for me to take. He pulled out a rose corsage, Aurora was acting like she was fainting. He put it on my wrist then kissed my hand like a real gentleman. I took his arm as we walked to the table where our families were. He pulled my chair out and after I sat he pushed me in, then whispered in my ear.
"You look like a goddess." Then he sat next to me. Everyone turned around to look at the royal families. My anxiety of people staring surfaced. I didn't want to look down, so I fiddled with the necklace Jax got me. My dad stood up and the room fell silent.
"Thank you everyone for coming. Today is a special day for my family. Now our family is complete after so many years, and we can celebrate not only Prince Ezra's birthday but his twin sister, Princess Elyse's as well. Dinner will be served soon and after that the festivities can begin, and I expect no problems." He looked to a spot of the room and I knew who he was looking at, but I refuse to look at him. Dad sat down, then the crowd took their seats. The table below ours was reserved for the rest of my family. We ate dinner and talked, I was telling the guys what Gen put me through. Jax and Ezra were cracking up. When we were done eating, waiters came around with champagne flutes. Jax grabbed one for me and then himself. He stayed standing and tapped the glass, getting everyone's attention.
"Before we get this party started, I want to give a toast." He looked at me and Ezra. "Ezra, we have been best friends since birth. You're the brother I didn't get. Happy birthday man, and I look forward to many more." I was about to clap, but he wasn't done. "Elyse, we have been waiting for you to come back for many years. Ezra and I used to imagine what you would be like. And you didn't disappoint. I can't wait for the world to see how amazing you are. Happy birthday, Princess." He sat down and I looked at him in awe before I leaned over, and kissed his cheek. Dad stood up.
"To start this night off right, we will start the first dance with our children." My eyes almost popped out. Ezra got up and went to mom, she took his hand as Dad did the same to me. We walked to the floor and when the music started, we danced. I'm so glad Gen gave me a quick lesson earlier, I wonder if she knew this was going to happen. "I'm sorry that we missed so much with you. We should have had our first father daughter dance years ago. You look beautiful by the way."
"Thanks. But I'm here now and we have a long time to have moments like this and more. I love you Daddy." I looked into his eyes and wiped a tear that fell. I looked around and saw that, Jax and Gen were dancing with their parents.
"Just promise me a year or two before you make me a grandfather." I laughed as he spun me and I ended up in different arms.
"Hello again, cupcake." Jax said as he spun me again. The song changed to a more modern slow song and people started to get on the floor. He pulled me closer to him as he put his hands on my hips while I put my arms around his neck, our chests touching. "You are very distracting tonight." He whispered in my ear.
