It was early Thursday morning when my phone rang. I was in the middle of making breakfast for Harmony, who was sitting on the counter.

"Yeah, mom?" I answered the phone, while trying to keep the pancakes from burning.

"Trinity? Trinity? Trinity, I'm coming home," My mom sounded panicked, and I could hear things being thrown around in the background. "Get off the fucking phone, bitch!" I could hear my father's voice scream in the background.

Oh, mommy, what did you do?

I let the pancakes burn on the stove as I ran into my father's office. Where did my parents go? I didn't remember where they had said they were going. I flipped through piles of papers until I found a sticky note, written in my father's scribbly handwriting: Reminder- buy tickets to London.

My mom had it in for her.

London. Of course they had happened to be in London. London, the city that ruined our happy little family. London, the city that brought around Harmony.

Mommy, I just hope you make it back.

I could hear Harmony calling me, probably concerned by the burning pancakes. I ran back into the kitchen, took the pan off the stove, and threw the pancakes into the garbage. "Harmony, Mommy's coming home. We need to get the house cleaned up," I tried to sound calm. I took Harmony off the counter and put her down on the couch. I flicked on the TV, the news was on, but that would have to entertain Harmony for now. London really is seven hours away, but with the time difference it was only two, so I had to get everything cleaned up, and be ready to go pick my mom up from the airport.

Harmony and I left for the airport with one hour until my mom's arrival. I had no idea what was going on, or if Dad was coming home with Mom or not.  I hoped for the best as we drove down the highway. I was on edge so my driving wasn't at its best. I could see the worry in Harmony's eyes as I drove wildly on the highway, trying desperately to concentrate. "Harmony, you know how Mommy and Daddy always are when they get back from their trips?" I asked very quickly, which I always did when I was nervous.

"Uh-huh," she muttered, still scared.

"You know how they're always tired and cranky?" I asked quickly, while tapping my fingers impatiently on the steering wheel as we waited at a red light. I was acting just like my father before they left.

"Yeah," she said.

"Ok, just checking."

I needed to calm down. If I didn't I would either crash or be pulled over. I plugged my iPod into my radio so that it would play through the speakers in the car, hoping music would calm me. I didn't pick a song, I just let it run through the list. I should've noticed that it started playing songs that start with 'K'. I should've realized and turned it off. The song 'Kim' by Eminem turned on. Usually, I would've turned it off because Harmony was with me, and Eminem doesn't use the best language. But this song turned on, and I had to pull over. The song described the situation that could happen at any time. I tried to hold back tears in front of Harmony, but I wasn't successful. I wasn't even able to turn it off. I sat there with Harmony, me crying, as we listened to a song describing Eminem's feeling for his ex-wife. Harmony sat there shocked by the language, and what was happening. I was hoping she didn't understand that Eminem was pretending to murder his cheating wife. I just hoped that that was all my father would ever do, pretend.

-------------------------------------------

Note: If you want to, listen to the song, I have it as a youtube video. Warning though, very explicit language and a not-so-nice situation. You don't have to listen to it though.

-------------------------------------------

Near the ending of the song I was finally able to hit my iPod so that it flew across the car, disconnecting from the radio. I wiped my tears and started driving again, even worse than before. I felt like I was going insane. Harmony was asking me questions but I tried to ignore her and focus on the road. When I successfully pulled into a parking space without hitting another car, I was proud. I got out and let Harmony out of the car. We walked up to the airport and I felt sick. I wasdesperately hoping my mom would show up, and I was hoping things weren't as bad as I though they were.

We were sitting down, waiting for my mom. Harmony was quiet. I was almost shaking. I got a fewwierd stares from people passing. How crazy did I look?

When my mom appeared, I almost started crying tears of joy. Mom didn't say much. She greeted me and told me we should get her luggage and leave.

We left the airport not much long after. I let mom drive this time, I had done enough.

"Mom, Are you ok?" I asked her, once Harmony had fallen asleep, so that she didn't hear us.

Mom swallowed hard, "Yeah."

"What happened?"

"I said shit I shouldn't have said."

"Mom, what did you say?" I asked, worried.

"Well, I wanted your father to take me out to dinner. When he refused because he was tired I said that Aaron had always taken me out to dinner and that I wish I were home right now. Things kind of went downhill from there."

"Mom, why'd you have to do that? Do you know how dumb that was?!"

"I know," She said softly.

"This is just going to make his relationship with Harmony much better," I muttered sarcastically.

"I know."

"Mom, how mad is he? I swear Mom, you guys are like tearing me apart. And I wish I could say its his fault. But its not, its yours! You're the one who cheated on him! You even got fucking pregnant!" I shouted, cursing in front of my mom, which I would never even to have dared to do.

"Are you implying something about your sister?!" She turned everything around on me.

"No! I love Harmony. Hell, I practically raise her! Cause you've gotta go on so many fucking trips! Its these business trips that have ruined my fucking life. If you don't love Dad, why don't you just fuck off! Disappear! Leave me alone in the house again! Just fuck off Mom! I swear you have it in for yourself!" I screamed at her, loud enough that cars near us could probably hear.

Mom veered off the the right. She stopped the car, "Get out!" She screamed at me.

I just looked at her.

"Get the fuck out!" She screamed.

I took off my seat belt and got out, slamming the door behind me so hard that I thought it might break. I was left on the side of the highway as Mom drove off, "See there you go again! Abandoning your own fucking daughter to fend for herself. Fuck off mom! I wish Dad would kill you!"
