The door opened again and I expected the nurse I did not like to walk in. Instead, I was surprised. Dad walked in through the door, and walked over to me slowly. Dad had apparently heard the news and rushed back home from Italy. As Dad walked over he looked at both Jake and I, and I hoped Dad did not think that Jake had caused all this. When he finally reached us, he looked to Jake and silently thanked him by touching him on the shoulder. Jake nodded and then got up from the chair and stepped away, and Dad took his place."You had me worried, Trin," He said. I was slightly nervous. I didn't know what Dad knew, or what he didn't.
I nodded, not knowing what to say.
"Now that I'm here, you'll be able to go home later tonight," He said, trying to brighten my mood.
I smiled, but still didn't have anything to say. As Dad spoke, I kept glancing over towards Jake, who was standing towards the other side of the room, leaning against a wall. He seemed to be wondering the same thing as me; Did he know about Harmony? I desperately wanted to ask him, but I didn't want to risk upsetting Dad, so I remained completely silent.

We were driving down the highway. My ankle was elevated, resting on the CD organizer and storage compartment in between the two front seats. Jake sat next to me, which surprised me that Dad even let him. Usually Dad didn't even like Jake and I being in the same room, earlier I had assumed Dad would have forced him to sit in the passenger seat. I had a bandage wrapped around my head, covering my stitches. With me, I was aquipped with many bottles of various pain killers, which I were not looking forward to taking, after they had warned me that they may make me a little 'tipsy'. I wasn't good at keeping things to myself when I was normal, I couldn't imagine what words may escape me while I was on the pain killers. I had so much hidden from Dad. I couldn't risk letting pain killers ruin everything. I could just picture myself, explaining to Dad that Mom was cheating on him ---- once again.
I took a risk and asked Dad, "So, where's Mom." I was praying that Dad knew, and that Mom hadn't just 'mysteriously' disappeared.
"Oh, she's at home. She's a little upset. I'm assuming Jake told you," He answered, not thinking much of my question.
Jake and I both looked at each other as Dad had just answered our question from earlier. "Oh, yeah, he told me," I said.
"Yeah, she'll be alright, though. We'll get everything sorted out in court," Dad continued. At least Dad was optimistic that we'd get Harmony back. I was still nervous though. A lot could happen to Harmony in the time it would take for us to get to court.
I nodded, and then just stared out the window, at the pink sky, until we finally arrived home. We walked into the house. Dad opening the door fa crack, glancing around the living room, most likely looking to see if Mom was stable. He didn't want me to see Mom depressed. When the room was clear, Dad opened the door all the way and I clumsily made it through the door with my crutches, which I were still getting used to. Jake helped me up the stairs and into my room. I looked the other way as we passed Harmony's room. I couldn't bare to completely realize that fact that Harmony wasn't there, and might never be there again.
Jake then had to convince me to take my dose of the pain killers. I swallowed the pills, feeling them slide down my throat. I immediately regretting letting Jake convince me to take them. I knew somehow, I would screw everything up.
