The two triplets were sent to boarding school at the prestigious academy, the school was prejudice to orphans, the two Quagmires were sleeping in a very uncomfortable shack filled with crabs that pinch very hard and the worst smelling mold you'd ever encounter, it smelt like a rotten cabbage mixed with rotting eggs, it stuck to the walls and drip from the roof, the shack also did not have any beds instead the orphans were given two hay beds, scratchy and uncomfortable, Duncan and Isadora were very miserable but life must go on and their light of hope was turning eighteen and inheriting the Quagmire Sapphires. They were bullied for being orphans and of course by infamous Carmelita Spats. At least there was still some good in the world, the Quagmires have befriended two other orphans. Two sisters Diana and Katya Caswell, Diana had honey blonde hair with pearl white highlights and her pretty eyes matched the sky, always blue and always shining she always wore her hair down to allow her curls to look wild and free, she was three months younger than the Quagmire triplets, thirteen years old, Katya the younger Caswell was much different from her older sister, she had raven hair that was always tied up in two braids her skin was much tanner than her sisters pale skin. She had two beauty marks, one near her eye and the other next to her lip, her eyes were big and innocent which was also was blue as the sky, and her front tooth was chipped, she was extremely energetic for an eleven-year-old girl and she loved studying about plants, while Diana was more into arts such as painting or sketching, the four of them were inseparable friends, especially Diana and Duncan, but of course no good stays in Prufrock prep, The Caswell's were taken out of the academy since their great aunt has found them and decided to adopt her nieces, without the Caswell sisters in their life Duncan and Isadora felt sorrowful.

Mr. Poe drops the Baudelaire children—Violet, Klaus, and Sunny—off at Prufrock Preparatory School, a boarding school they are to attend. They are greeted by a rude girl, Carmelita Spats, who calls the children "cake sniffers" At lunch, Carmelita mocks the Baudelaire's, but Duncan and Isadora Quagmire stand up for them. The Quagmires are triplets, and they say that their parents died in a fire that also killed their sibling Quigley. When they become adults, they will inherit a fortune of sapphires. Isadora writes rhyming couplets, while Duncan is passionate about journalism and researching. Over the following days, Violet is a student of Mr. Remora, and must take detailed notes of his boring anecdotes, while Klaus is taught by Mrs. Bass, who makes her students endlessly measure the dimensions of objects. Isadora is in Klaus' class and Duncan is in Violet's. Sunny struggles to carry out her administrative work, which is designed for an adult. The school has no weekend breaks. Count Olaf soon arrives, disguised as the new gym teacher Coach Genghis. Nero fails to recognize him, or to take the children seriously when they raise concerns—particularly as he arrives during their meeting. Carmelita delivers a message to the Baudelaire's that they are to meet Genghis after dinner, where he makes them, run laps all night while painting a large, luminous circle on the lawn. He calls this "Special Orphan Running Exercises", abbreviated "S.O.R.E." The children pretend not to recognize Olaf. After nine consecutive nights of S.O.R.E., Violet and Klaus begin failing tests in class, Sunny fails to complete administrative work and they begin arguing with Duncan and Isadora. The Baudelaire's meet with Nero and tell him directly that Genghis is Olaf, but he is disbelieving. He demands that Violet and Klaus take comprehensive tests set by their teachers the following morning, while Sunny must prepare homemade staples to use on Nero's paperwork, or they will be expelled and fired. Genghis has offered to act as the children's guardian in this case. They must also give Carmelita earrings for each delivered message, and present Nero with candy for missing his concerts while doing S.O.R.E.

Duncan and Isadora disguise themselves as Violet and Klaus and steal a bag of flour from the cafeteria to pose as Sunny for the S.O.R.E. exercises that night. They hope Olaf will not notice the difference in the dark. The Quagmires leave their comprehensive notebooks for Violet and Klaus to learn from, while Violet invents a staple-making technique with a crab, a potato, metal rods, creamed spinach, and a fork. Violet makes staples while Klaus reads from each notebook aloud.

After the children perform perfectly on their tests, Genghis arrives. He discovered that the Quagmires were impersonating the children after they left the bag of flour behind. Nero expels the Baudelaire's as Mr. Poe arrives, to give Nero and Carmelita their candy and earrings. The Baudelaire's insist that Genghis remove his shoes and turban, to expose Olaf's distinctive eye tattoo and monobrow, and he chooses instead to run away. The Baudelaire's pursue, succeeding in removing his shoes and turban. They discover that two members of his troupe, the white-faced women, were cafeteria workers, and that Olaf has taken the Quagmires hostage. As Klaus and Olaf reaches the car, Duncan yells at Klaus, trying to communicate information he and his sister found in the library while researching Count Olaf. Duncan throws the pair's personal commonplace books at him and shouts out "V.F.D.", but Olaf kicks Klaus and snatches the notebooks up. Olaf reaches the car before the children and drives away with the white-faced women and the Quagmire children.

"Violet!" "Klaus!" Duncan and Isadora screamed, the two Baudelaire's were chasing after Duncan and Isadora, Isadora knew they couldn't catch up so she pushed her way to the window and dropped the vfd spy glass, she was pulled away by the wrinkled hand of one of the white faced women she heard Duncan scream "Let go of her!" before passing out, Duncan was terrified he never thought anything could get worse from Prufrock Prep, he was wild in the car wiggling, kicking and screaming "stop moving Quigley!" count Olaf yelled

"Duncan" Duncan replied gritting his teeth "oh pish posh" the henchmen said, Duncan soon blacked out from tiredness from all the screaming and kicking his throat was dry as the Sahara Desert. Isadora woke up in a cold cage, the room was pitch black and Duncan laid next to her unconscious "oh Duncan" she said sorrowfully his lip were bleeding so did his cheek, she put his head on her lap while she sat leaning against the wall, from the corner of eyes she saw Count Olaf and a women she did not recognize, Isadora felt like she didn't matter and she was just a small particle roaming the earth, she shivered and huddled closer to her brother sobbing after a few minutes she stopped she will not sit and cry and be useless! Isadora set Duncan on the floor carefully and started to look at the locks, she was no inventor like her dear friend Violet, she took out a bobby pin from her brown tangled hair and started to pick the lock. Every couple minute she would sigh in frustration it just wouldn't work! Duncan woke up to the sound of Isadora screaming "uhm" he groaned after his eyes adjusted to the dark room, he realized he was in a cage Isadora was in front of him and someone was pulling her hair! Duncan quickly got up "hey lady let go!" he cried the women just grinned "now do you promise not to pick the lock you foolish girl!" the unknown women demanded, Isadora was not ready to give up she looked at Duncan then glanced at her feet, Duncan understood, both kicked the women's feet which caused her to let go. Duncan seized Isadora's hand and ran to the back of the cage. "I am Esme Gigi Genevie Squalor, and I will not tolerate this behavior you terrible twins!"
