Commas can be a bitch, I would know. But you know what's an even bigger bitch? Semi colons, like wtf do those things even do? I'm a Junior in High School and I have no clue
Honestly commas can be confusing, but I use them when there's like a pause, or I change the topic, y'know like I'm doing now. It makes the sentence easier to read, because the reader can see there's a pause, or change in topic
Here's an example
Dear, (Insert Name)
When writing a letter, you always put a comma right before the persons name. Is persons a word? Idfk
Here's what a messy sentence looks like
Hello today I am shopping and I also hate dogs because they are really loud and annoying and did you know that fish have super small memories? Yeah I didn't know that either crazy right?
See, very confusing. Here's what it should look like
Hello, today I am shopping, and I also hate dogs, because they are really loud and annoying, and did you know that fish have super small memories? Yeah, I didn't know that either, crazy right?
See how it makes more sense. Commas can be your best friend. I love commas :)
