PROLOGUE

Rays of light coming from the open window went to Catherine's face. She then grunted and covered her face with a duvet. She was about to go back to sleep when someone knocked heavily at her door.

"What?!" She asked, yelling.

"Pinapababa na po kayo ni Madam. Gisingin ko daw po kayo." Sagot ng kumatok.

Catherine harshly removed the duvet and rolled her eyes. "Kung yan lang naman ang sasabihin mo, you don't need to knock at my door that way!"

She placed her thumb at the finger print scanner that is for her door. The closed door automatically opened after confirming her finger print.

"I'm sorry for that, Ms. Cath. Yun kasi ang utos ni madam sakaling hindi ka po agad magising." Anito at bahagyang yumuko.

Umismid siya ng makita ang ginawa ng kasambahay. "You don't need to bow."

Alanganing ngumiti lamang ang kasambahay, halatang hindi sang-ayon sa sinabi niya. 'Right. Her mother's order. Tsk.' Aniya sa kanyang isipan.

"You may now go down. I'll just prep myself. Thank you." Aniya sabay ngiti dito. Agad naman itong kumilos at lumabas ng kwarto.

Bumuntong hininga siya pagkatapos maiwang mag-isa sa kwarto. Napailing nalang siya at pinilit ang sariling tumayo upang masimulan na ang pag-a-ayos ng sarili.

"I slept late thinking I am going to wake up late! Gosh. Day-off ko ba talaga? Sana pala maaga akong natulog. I shoud've known better." Malakas na sabi niya sa sarili.

After prepping herself, she went to the dining area and saw her family having a great time. She narrowed her look to her mother, 'How can she laugh like that? Like she didn't do anything? Tsk.' She said in her mind.

Her father accidentally gazes at her and laughed. "Looks like someone slept at the wrong side of the bed." He teasingly said.

Catherine yawned loudly and sat on her chair. She gave her dad a tired look, "Someone woke me up. I thought I would be sleeping all day thinking that it's my day-off. I thought wrong."

Her father laughed at her remarks. "How many hours did you sleep?"

"Just three." She answered.

Her mom looked at her, bewildered. "What?! Why did you slept so late?"

She puckered her lips and looked at her mom. "It's my day-off, mom."

"You watched somethin'?" Her brother asked.

"Yeah, I did. I watched the drama that your girlfriend suggested." Catherine unconsciously said.

Umubo bahagya ang mga magulang nila kaya't napatigil siya sa pag nguya at dahan-dahang ibinaling ang tingin sa kapatid niya. "I mean, your ex." Mahinang saad niya at tumikhim.

Her mom faked a cough, gaining her attention. "After this breakfast, we'll be going to talk at the library. Eat fast."

"Just let her eat properly, mom." Sabi ng kuya niya.

Napangisi siya ng sumagot ang kapatid niya. 'We really got each other's back.'

"Stop smirking. Mukhang trinatraydor niyo na naman ako sa mga isipan ninyo. Mga anak ko ba talaga kayo?" Her mother dramatically asked.

Napailing na lamang ang asawa nito sabay tikhim. "We're having breakfast, hon. Mamaya mo na sila tanungin."

Umirap lang si Katrina at pinagpatuloy na ang pagkain. Nang matapos silang kumain ay agad silang pumunta sa library ng bahay nila. Humalukipkip siya at mapanuring tinignan ang mga magulang niya.

"Why do you look tensed?" Tanong niya sa mga ito.

"I hope you'll forgive me, my lovely daughter." Her mother weirdly told her. She was smiling as if she's asking for forgiveness but her eyes looked happy.

"You're acting weirdly, mom." She said as she's suspisciously eyeing her. "You did something wrong." She stated.

"Uhm, well. You know, my daughter. There are things that we do for your sake and---"

"For the sake of the company." Pagpapatuloy niya sa sasabihin ng magulang niya. She smirked, "And what is it this time?" She sarcastically asked.

Alejandro sighed as he's watching his wife and his daughter talked to each other. He didn't agreed to his wife's plan that's why he tried to stopped her. Little did he know that his wife is so wicked and made her way to tricked their daughter.

"You're mother did something that... I didn't expect." Her father said and sighed deeply.

"What did she do?" She asked nervously.

"I made you sign a marriage contract." Katrina bravely told her daughter. Alejandro couldn't do anything because what is done, is done.

Catherine couldn't process what she heard. She was speechless and couldn't even utter a word. She opened her mouth just to close it again. Catherine felt like she's rooted to the ground and can't express the words that she wanted to express.

Minutes later, Catherine started laughing loudly with full of sarcasm. She couldn't believe that she will be put into a situation that she didn't expect to happen. 'So this will be my life, huh?'

"So that's when you gave my bunch of paper works to sign? Hah. This is insane." She said loudly while giving them a sarcastic look. She felt like her world just turned upside down and she felt like she's goin' to be crazy as fuck.

"Sweetheart, I know this is tough for you--"

"Alam niyo naman po pala." She said and cut her mother's words.

"Watch your manners, Catherine!" Alejandro warned his daughter.

"I'm sorry, dad. But I just can't process this in my head!" She told her father.

"We'll give you time to think about the marriage." Alejandro told his daughter lovingly.

Agad siyang umalis ng silid-aklatan at tumakbo papuntang kwarto ng ate niya. Agad siyang umupo sa kama ng ate niya at hinarap si Lein na kasalukuyang may tinatapos na trabaho.

"I need your help. I badly need your help, ate."

"What is it?" Simpleng tanong nito. Hindi ito nakasabay sa umagahan kanina kaya walang itong kaaalam-alam sa nangyari.

"I was tricked by mom."

"You're always tricked by mom. What's new?" Lein said and kind of laughed.

"I know that! But this is worst!"

"How do you say so?" She calmly asked.

"She tricked me to sign a lot of paper works and then she let me sign a marriage certificate! The worst thing is that IT'S ALREADY VALIDATED!!!!"

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
