Chapter Twenty-nine At Night We Lie Awake

Ty's POV

After I had walked in on Adam and Brice kissing Alex got me, and herself, a hotel room. She just left to get her bags from Jerome's house. I just broke up with the love of my life, and my bestfriend is here to help me with the aftermath. It only took Alex twenty minutes to get her bag, she also got some ice cream and some coffee. "Alex," I say. "Huh?" She asks me. "My relationship with Adam was like a sixty second paradise." I tell her. "I know Ty." She replies. A long silence passes before Alex randomly starts to sing. "Tonight, we lie awake," She starts. "Remember how the coffee made us shake on those long drives, one more long night," I continue singing one of her favorite songs. "Another seven days, heartbeat racing the interstate, my home tonight for one more long night," She sings. "I'm sure as hell the happiest I've ever been." I continue. "We get high, we get low we've got more than we know, my friends are a different breed, my friends are." Lex keeps going. "There's a ghost in this room I think I'll name it after all of you and watch it hang over my bed like decorations celebrated," I say. "Memories they came and went in light of all the time we spent listening to everything our parents told us not to take in." Alex continues the song from so long ago. "Now make a change, I'm counting down the mile mark to every town and falling more in love with the distance put between us." I sing having lots of fun with this who cares if people think we're crazy? "Tonight, we lie awake remember how the coffee made us shake on those long drives, one more long night." She sings amazingly. "Another seven days heartbeat racing the interstate,my home tonight, for one more long night." I continue almost to three end of the song. "From coast to coast I'll make the most of every second I've been given with this crowd without a doubt you're all I dream about." Alex sings getting really happy because that's her favorite verse of the song. "At night we lie awake with stories taking us back to the nights we felt alive the nights we felt alive." I say. "I would've married you in Vegas had you given me the chance to say 'I do' could I make it more obvious,could you make it anymore obvious," She sings. Alex says tackling me with a giant hug. "Thank you, you did great too." I tell her. "How long have we been sitting here eating ice cream and drinking coffee?" I ask her. "About four hours it looks like." She replies giggling at that fact. "Wow, probably time to hit the hay." I say using one of Alex's least favorite expression. "You know I hate that expression!" She yells at me. "I do." I tell her. "Then why'd you use it?" She asks. "I wanted to piss you off before bed." I tell her. "Jerk." She says and goes to brush her teeth. I follow her and do the same.

Mitch's POV

Jerome and I went out for a walk and when we came back Ty and Adam had apparently broken up. We were only gone for about,four minutes, and what happens, Adam cheats on Ty, and Alex, along with Ty, manage to leave and find a hotel to stay at. Four minutes! What next, Alex and Ty will start dating? "Mitch!" Jerome yells running into his,er our room. "Are Ty and Alex dating?!" I ask him probably sounding like a complete lunatic. "What, no." He tells me. "Thank God." I say. "Anyway, I wanted to ask if you would like to go on a dinner date tonight." He tells, or kind of asks, me. "I would love to." I tell him. "Good, be ready in fifteen minutes." Jerome says and walks out of the room. Fifteen minutes? Ok, how fancy is it going to be? I guess I won't wear anything too fancy.
