We drove back to Sam's appartement, since mom and dad wanted to spend the rest of the day relaxing. Luckily, Sam's car wanted to start this time and we drove off to Carly's work. Sam obviously wanted to tell Carly about the great news and I was curious about where she worked, so I tagged along. We arrived at a really fancy building and Sam almost leaped out of the car before he had turned it off. "Sam, calm down. Carly still has a few hours of work, she's not leaving any time soon." I rolled my eyes, getting out of the "fake bumblebee", as I had decided to nickname it. Sam ignored me completely and speedwalked to the entrance, making me have to run to catch up to him. We got to the front desk and Sam asked for Carly. The lady pointed us in the right direction before going back to her computer. "This is so fancy." I whispered to Sam as we walked past a lady who was walking two Salukis. "Awe." I gushed, trying to slow down, but Sam grabbed the back of my shirt pulling me along. "I swear, sometimes I forget you're an adult." Sam sighed, halfely annoyed and halfely joking. "Right back at ya, brother." I retorted, flicking him in the back of his head.
We arrived at Carly's floor and spotted her right away. "Carly." Sam called, whispering to not disturb the other too much. She was talking to someone, but excused herself when she saw us. "You got the job?" She asked, excited. "This is really crazy." Sam commented, looking around. "Agreed." I nodded. "You really got it?" She asked, rushing into Sam's arms. "Yes.", "Of course he did." I boasted, looking around at all the vintage cars. "See, what did I tell you? It's the bunny." Carly said jokingly, hugging Sam. "Oh yeah, definitely." I snickered. Sam gave me an annoyed look while Carly giggled. "Thank you, my dearest Carly. For bringing me the lovely bunny who gave me so much luck. How can I ever repay you for your kindness." I imitated Sam's voice, taking Carly's hand in one hand and put my other hand over my heart. Me and Carly giggled, while Sam just huffed. "You are so welcome." Carly sighed. "Do you like me more?" Sam asked, bringing Carly back in his hold. "A little bit, yeah.", "You said you were his assistant curator, you didn't say the guy owns Space Mountain." Sam pointed out, looking around. "I know. Isn't it beautiful here? And he's the coolest guy. Ever." Carly asked, gesturing around. "Yeah?" Sam asked, sounding impressed. "Yeah.", "I would be terrified to eat anything with ketchup as long as I was in the building." I whispered to Sam, who chuckled.
"Sam." A guy called, making us look over at him as he approached us. "Dylan Gould." Sam's smile faded for a second before it was plastered back on. "Hey. A pleasure to meet you." Sam greeted, while my old habits kicked in as I discreetly hid behind him and Carly, hoping this guy wouldn't notice me. "Pleasure meeting you. Carly's told me a lot about you." I could see that Sam had noticed what I was doing and kept the conversation running. "Well, vice versa. It's a beautiful building. It's like the Starship Enterprise in here." Dylan chuckled. "Thank you very much. It leaks." He said, signing some papers an old woman presented to him before turning back to us. "Before Carly came to help run the collection, it was just a complete mess. But now, the restorations are back on track. We're going to Pebble Beach this year and we're gonna get a trophy for that stand right there." He boasted, pointing at a stand with a lot of trophies. "You know why? Because this woman right here is my secret weapon." Dylan said, pointing to Carly. 'This gives me some weird vibes.' I thought, raising a brow at Dylan. Was I slightly judging a man I just met? Yes. Did I feel bad for doing so? Not really. "Mr. Gould, please, you exaggerate. All I've done is get you organized." Carly said. "Oh, you've done much more than that, my Duchess." I almost choked on my own spit and had to do everything in my power to not cough. What the frick? Duchess? Is that really the only nickname you could give her?' I thought, looking between the three of them. Sam let out a choked breath, clearly not knowing how to react to this. "Nicknames, that's fun." Was all he was able to say. "Yeah. The Duchess." Dylan repeated. "She's adorable." the old lady commented. 'That doesn't make "Duchess" a fitting nickname.' I rolled my eyes. "Speaking of adorable." Dylan spoke, looking at me. "Who might you be?" 'Shit.' I thought, my eyes widening a bit. Sam looked at me, seeing I wasn't comfortable with this. "Uh, this is my sister. (Y/N)." Sam explained. I held my hand out for him which he took and shook it gently. "Hi." I said, trying to give him a polite smile. "Nice to meet you." I said, trying to not be super awkward. "The pleasure is mine." Dylan said, giving my hand a slight squeeze before he let go. "Anyways." Sam coughed, trying to save me. "ah, yes. You know, when I stole her away from the British Embassy, I said, "It's easy to manage a country. Try managing a priceless collection of art." Dylan told us, starting to show us the different cars. "Take a look at this 19 39 Delahaye 165 Cabriolet. Designed by a Frenchman." Dylan led us to the back of the car while Carly stoppen closer to the front. "Look at the curves. Elegant, isn't it? Beautiful." I looked at Dylan and followed his eyes. 'Dude! you're not even looking at the car!' "Sensual. Built to evoke the body of the ideal woman." Dylan wasn't even trying to hide that he was looking at Carly. "Come on." He said, walking ahead. "This is kinda uncomfortable." I whispered to Sam. "Yeah, I agree." He whispered back before walking away to follow Dylan and Carly.
