My family, maybe Robert believed me but not this town. It just had been a day and I can't believe how many phone calls my mom attended after the news started spreading in our town.
Nothing else flies faster than the rumours.
It made me feel guilty knowing in which position I made my family stand.
They are good at defending me and standing by my side but how many people could they answer. I need to take over this and I need to rub this dirt away from me.
But how?
My father filed a complaint about it and the police were already into the investigation. The next day I went to school, I wanted to talk with Peter and explain to him what happened that day because I don't want to carry that blame. It felt soo heavy...
But unfortunately, he didn't attend our school that day and the dirty gossip behind me made me leave the school in the middle of the day.
Now I became the trending topic in Wildwood... Till now nobody really knows me but now they got to know about me by this spreading rumour. They don't even know me for real but they kept judging me.
Creepy stares, rude comments and misbehaving dudes that's what I got as my birthday gifts.
When they will end...

The next day mom took me to the police station as they asked for my statement. But there I couldn't open much because there are so many interlinking things. If I need to tell them what exactly happened I need to tell them Olivia and the other strangers I'd seen that day. Those thoughts spun my head. Firstly I needed to think about it before I can talk about it.
I told them I need time to discuss it and they agreed as they are very cooperative.
But the strange thing was after such a big incident like this Betty's parents would have filed a complaint against me but they stayed silent. My mom shared the same thought with the police officials but they came up with a different opinion. They told us maybe because of the privacy concern they decided to be silent, not all families will be willing to elongate this kind of sensible matter. That's a reasonable point.
And also they tried to track my phone but it was switched off. They could only track it if it's ON. The last time it was tracked at the same location, at the beach party and since that day it remained switched off.
After that, my mom took me to a cafe to make me feel relaxed.
"Tomorrow while giving your statement, let them know if you have anyone in your mind." My mom instructed while sipping her coffee.
"What do you mean?" I mumbled.
"Like... Don't you suspect anyone?" She asked me then my head went straight to Olivia. She could have done as she hates me so much and most importantly she was there at that time.
"Do you...?" My mom lifted her eyebrows looking at me.
"No one! I don't want to bring anyone into this not knowing the truth. I don't want to make any innocent one suffer by just a doubt." I clarified to her.
"Firstly I am very proud of you, you have such a good heart." She smiled. "You are right but it won't bother them. They just do regular enquiring. That's it." She said.
"Mom I just can't say what I've seen... You know you don't know about this generation... It involves their confidential life." I mumbled and my mom just rolled her eyes.
"But to know the truth you have to tell them everything you saw there, all the minor details... Even if you have seen somebody fucking." She said making me shocked.
