All her life, Amber had been the perfect child. Top of the class, polite and with tons of friends. She had never disappointed her parents, she was determined to succeed at life, with her parents plans; go to one of the best universities, get a well-paying job, marrying a handsome, intelligent man, and having the perfect family. Amber had always gone with what her parents told her, without questioning anything.
In her early teens, she was diagnosed with social anxiety. It had an immense impact on her: she lost many friends and her grades dropped, but her parents still supported her and dealt with her teenager mood swings. Amber was distancing herself from her friends, and everybody had noticed. Her friends tried hard to deal with her social anxiety, but Amber was not putting any effort into the relationship. Soon enough, her friends gave up on her, and she had no one to talk to except her parents. Her parents continued to support her, even though her grades had gotten worse, and she no longer had any friends. But Amber was still a good girl, she didn't go to any parties and she didn't do any drugs or alcohol.
By the time she was 15, she was diagnosed with chronic depression. She picked up on some bad habits. She started smoking, she stole the cigarettes from her aunt. But of course, her parents had no idea. They still thought Amber was a good kid. She hardly left her bedroom, she spent her time blasting music and smoking cigarettes. It helped her keep her mind off the fact she was a mess.
On December 16 2014, aged 16, she attempted suicide. She overdosed on pills, which caused her to be hospitalized for 10 days. Her parents decided to sign her up to support group, as an attempt to turn their mess of a daughter into what she used to be.
Support group did the exact opposite of what her parents wanted it to do. During the period of 2 months, she had picked up on drugs and alcohol, thanks to her support group peers. She manages to make some friends which understand her. They were all going through the same hell, they kept each other company, but big trouble came with it.
