----------------------------------------

It's been three years since you've moved into Pelican Town, and you'd made incredible progress. You've gotten three out of the six areas in the community center repaired, and you've become pretty good friends with most of the residents.

You and Shane have become particularly close, however. The two of you have shared moments together, both good and bad. Over the past couple of years, he's warmed up to you and was no longer rude towards you when you approached him. Actually, the two of you would talk in the Stardrop Saloon after his shift for hours, until it closed.

Today was Valentine's day, and you were planning something special for him. You saved some peppers from last year's summer harvest, and you made some fresh cheese, courtesy of your cow, Miltank(named after the Pokemon of course). You also bought the ingredients for a small pizza. You prepared the pepper poppers and preheated the oven before running to Pierre's and buying a bouquet(thank Yoba today was a Monday), then ran back to your house just in time for the oven to beep. You you put the poppers in the oven and cut up some of the left over peppers, placing them on top of the pizza along with mushrooms from last fall.

After placing the pizza into the oven and checking the pepper poppers, you let out a sigh. You and Shane were close, but were you close enough? Would he accept the bouquet or would he reject you and things become awkward? You shook your head. No use worrying in what would happen, just focus on the present. You took the poppers out of the oven and made sure the pizza was cooking correctly. Things were going alright. You walked up to your bedstand, pulling out a comb and brush and detangling your hair. you'd gone to the bathhouse thingy earlier in the morning, while all the shops were closed.

[5:00 P.M.]

You checked the time- Perfect. You put the pizza and the pepper poppers in separate containers and shoved them into your backpack, then placed the bouquet next to them. You left your house and jogged to the saloon, barely sitting in your usual seat before Shane made it into the door. He noticed you and walked over.

"Hey [y/n], how's your day been?" He asked, sitting down as Gus slid him a beer, as per usual.

You waved to him. "Hey Shane. My day's been good, what about you?" You asked.

Shane shrugged. "The usual, y'know. Morris being Morris, Joja Mart with its artificial air," he joked. You laughed, and he smiled softly, looking at you as you did so. You two talked and exchanged a few jokes before you decided to go for it.

"Hey, Shane?" You asked.

"Yeah? What's up?" He responded.

"Can we go somewhere?"

"Um- sure, lead the way." He said, standing up from leaning against the wall and handing Gus 400G as you hopped off your stool. You led him out of the saloon, hearing the cheery music fade away as you closed the door. The two of you walked out to the lake in Cindersap Forest, and you sat down on the dock, Shane following suit.

"I brought you these." You said, taking out the pepper poppers and the pizza.

He smiled as he took a pepper popper and ate it. "Wow, you got them perfect."

You smiled "Thanks." You took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. If you didn't do it now, you'd chicken out and wait for an entire year. "Shane, I want to ask you something."

He nodded, swallowing the rest of the pepper popper. "Sure, what is it?"

You closed your eyes and reopened them. "Shane, we've known each other for almost three years now, and I think we've gotten really close." You pulled out the bouquet. "And I'd like to get even closer to you. I want us to be there for each other, for both our highest and lowest moments, when we've reached rock bottom and can't find our way back up." You took another breath and held the bouquet out to him. "Shane, will you be my boyfriend?"

Shane's smile grew even wider and he blushed. After a moment in which you started to doubt yourself, he responded with "I had no idea you felt the same way." He hugged you, to your surprise, and you hugged back. After a moment he let go of you. "Oh, sorry... heh. I should've asked."

You smiled and laughed a little. "It's alright. So, um, does this mean we're official?"

"Only if you want it to be."

You hugged him. "Then it's official, we're official."

Shane chuckled. "You're so weird."

{AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I GOT IT OUT OMG- okok I know it's late but I haven't played stardew in a hot minute so I had to do some research, plus I had homework. Anyways, I love you all, byeee!}
