Temptress

Chapter 5

Pounding. All she could hear when she woke. She was slouched over a table she couldn't remember. Her head was banging. She tried to sit up and work out where she was, but she was so tired she just collapsed back down on to the table. 'Nope, sit up like this.' a pair of hands grabbed her shoulders and sat her up. 'Had quite a lot of fun last night didn't you' The familiar voice spoke to her, she knew the voice but couldn't put a name to the voice. 'Mmph' was all she could get out. 'Here, drink some water' The voice handed her cup, she took a sip, it was not water, she couldn't work out what it was, it was thick and slightly warm. 'That was not water' She said. 'No but it woke you up didn't it?' The voice said. She turned her head to see Diluc Raginvindr. 'How much do you remember of last night?' He asked. 'Um. I remember Kaeya and Rosaria, I remember you at the bar, I remember a song?' She replied. A song? Who was singing last night? 'You don't remember asking me to sleep with you then?' Her face went bright red. 'I-I did what?' She buried her face in her hands. How embarrassing. 'Do you remember getting up and singing, you were quite the popstar last night' God there was more. 'I have to go, find something.' she said, quickly trying to find an exit from  the conversation. 

She silently walked back to her house, trying not to trip over her own feet. 'Hey! Violet!' A voice called. She turned around to see bennett and razor from yesterday, there was someone else with them though, a little blonde girl who desperately clung to razors' hand. 'Hey! Bennett, how are you?' She asked 'I'm alright,  Captain Kaeya thought you might like some company today, do you want to come out and play with me Razor and Klee?' Great kaeya has given her kids to babysit, as well as a hangover. 'Yeah, give me a bit to get ready. I'll meet you at the tree in windrise.' 

She went inside her house and walked over to the sink. She washed her face in freezing water in a poor attempt to wake her self up. She probably needed to eat, but she was sure she would just throw it back up. 

She set off towards the tree, to meet the kids. Just as she reached the end of the bridge, a fatui agent grabbed her off and dragged her under the bridge where nobody could see them. 'What's your problem.' She said snatching her wrist back. 'What do you think you're playing at' he said 'you're meant to be watching the god not making friends and getting drunk' The fatui agent stared daggers into her 'You expect me to practically live in bars and never drink, great idea, and what a great way to get me killed.' She crossed her arms. The fatui agent simply huffed in reply he knew she had a point. 

Parting ways with a fatui agent was always the worst, when she was being held captive by the fatui she was taught all the protocols through a series of rough torture sessions. Once a fatui messenger had given his message, you were to kill him. They often sold of the information to others to get extra money and the fatui had learned that the hard way. She grabbed the dagger from her pocket and stabbed him. He fell to the ground and held onto the gaping hole in his chest. She kicked him into the river out of spite and left him to die. 

She arrived at the tree. Bennett sat there staring up and the sky while razor and klee threw branches at each other. As soon as she reached the large roots of the trees, Klee ran up to her. Indigo bent down to be klees' height. 'You must be Violet, that Mr Kaeya told klee all about!' Her little pigtails bouncing lightly as she jumped up and down with excitement. 'Yes, I am. I hope Kaeya told you good things about me' Trying to match the little girls excitement. 'Yes, mr Kaeya says you can sing really nice, will you sing for me?' She asked, her little doe eyes lighting up. 'Not now' Indigo said laughing a little. 'Ok, can we go fish blasting then?' She asked once again using big doe eyes. 'Sure' Indigo shrugged, not entirely knowing what fish blasting was.

Klee grabbed Indigo by the hand and pulled her towards the deeper part of the lake, razor and Bennett following behind the two girls. Klee set her backpack down next to her, she opened it and pulled something out. 'You mustn't tell Master Jean ok? You promise.' Klee asked Indigo. 'Sure, I promise' She said holding out her pinky for klee. Instead of taking her pinky like she expected, Klee gave her a puzzled look. Bennett who was standing next to Indigo said 'Oh! I know about this it's an old Sumeru tradition! You link pinky fingers and it means like you can't break that promise.' Indigo hadn't realised that pinky promises weren't something that young kids did here in mond. Klee intertwined her pinky with Indigos' and gentley shook it. 'Like that?' Klee asked Indigo, she simply nodded in return. 

The day had gone by a lot quicker than intended. Klee and showed Indigo how to fish blast, whilst razor jumped in and grabbed the live fish with his hands. Bennett just kept falling over and almost being swept away  by the tide. The sun was now beginning to set Klee was sitting in her lap dozing in and out of consciousness, bennett and Razor sat next to her in mild conversation. Indigo was humming a soft tune to ease klee into sleep (song is wait for life by lana del rey). She was trying ever so hard not to fall asleep as she had another night at the bar tonight. Klee was now fully asleep in her arms. Carefully she stood up. Trying no to wake the sleeping girl. She turned to Bennett and Razor 'Do you know where her house is?' She asked. 'Yeah, it's the Knights building, are you ok to go on your own, me and Razor are gonna stay out a bit later?' Bennett asked, Indigo simply nodded in reply to his question. 

She walked through Mond until she got the the Knights headquarters. Just as she was about to go in. Keaya and woman she didn't recognise came out the doors. 'Kaeya, here' she held the sleeping girl out to him. 'Thanks for making me play babysitter all day with a stomping hangover' She peicered him with her eyes. The woman next to Kaeya stuck her hand out to Indigo 'I'm sorry I don't think we've met, I'm Jean, acting grand master' The blonde woman said. Indigo took her hand and shook it. 'Yeah we haven't met in Violet, recently moved here from Liyue' she looked at the time to get a rough estimate of the time 'I must go though, nice meeting you.' Indigo walked off towards the tavern 'You entrusted Klee to a stranger you met at the bar?!' She heard jean cry as she walked off.
