Chapter 13: Demon of the Mist Zabuza defeated

A thick mist formed ever, making visibility go from clear to foggy. Karen tightly griped her kunai in her hand, trying to keep her nerves calm and focus on Zabuza chakra. She noticed Sasuke shaking in fear from the powerful chakra coming from Zabuza.

"Hey, Sasuke, snap out of it," She said, knowing that a shinboi should never show their fear or emotions while on a mission.

He looked over at her with frightened eyes and a hint of a surprise, seeing her calm and blank expression.

'How can she be so calm with the intense charka coming from this jounin?' Sasuke thought, looking at Karen while shaking and then at her sister, who was the opposite of Karen.

"Sasuke, keep your cool. I won't let anything happen to my comrades," Kakashi said, looking back at his genin.

Zabuza then started listing off vital points. Karen felt a strong charka behind her. She turned around to see Zabuza was in the middle of all of them. Karen felt an indispensable source of chakra behind her. She turned, taking a kunai, and saw Zabuza in the middle of them. She took her kunai and swung it at him to hit him. He dodged it and grabbed her arm and tossed her, sending her flying back, hitting g the ground.

"Karen!" Naruto shouted, looking at Karen, who fell to the ground.

Zabuza knocked everyone away from the bridge builder, except Kakashi got in the way. Hitting him away from the bridge builder. Naruto and surprising Sauske walk over to Karen, helping her stand on up.

"Karen, are you okay?" Naruto asked. Karen nodded at him ignoring the glare Sakura was sending her from Sasuke helping her up. However, she ignored that, trying to think of a plan.

"Listen, we need some kind of plan if we plan on taking down. He uses water style," Karen said, closing her eyes thinking of a possible way to take him down. At the same time, Zabuza had kicked Kakashi into the water before he trapped him into a ball of water, imprisoning him.

"Everyone! Retreat!" Kakashi shouted. Except none of team seven didn't want to leave their sensei.

"Listen, the battle was over the moment I got caught," Kakashi explained to them.

"Alright, I have an idea. However, not sure how well it will work," Karen said. Sakura looked at her, annoyed.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Sakura asked with annoyance in her voice.

Karen rolled her eyes kneeled on the ground.

"Naruto, Sasuke, try and keep him distracted while I try something. Sakura, just be useful and protect Tazuna," She said as she placed her hands on the ground.

'Where there water, there is earth.' She thought as he fed chakra into the ground. She could feel it going in. Now all she needed was to get it where Zabuza was and imagine what she wanted to do.

As Naruto and Sasuke fought Zabuza. She could feel her body weakening from using a lot of her chakra as she focused on Zabuza, located and made the earth shoot up, trying to bind around Zabuza, causing Zabuza to let go of the water prism, freeing Kakashi. He grabbed the hardened dirt holding back the bind. Karen released the justu, not able to bind him for much longer. She fell on her back out of breath.

"Wow! Karen, that was amazing!" Naruto yelled. Sasuke went over to her along with Naruto, helping her stand up.

"I have to agree with dope just this once. That was a good justu, but you need to work on holding it longer to make it stronger," Sasuke said. Karen raised an eyebrow. Surprised, Sasuke complimented her.

Team seven watched as Kakashi finished the fight. He used his Sharingan to defeat Zabuza. Wagen Kakashi walked up to Zabuza to finish him off. Senbon flew out of nowhere, hitting Zabuza in the neck. A boy around the team age or a year older appeared next to him.

"Thank you; this was his last battle," The boy said. He had a tracker mask on, and it was from the Hidden Mist village. Karen free herself from Naruto and Sasuke, standing again as they walk up to the boy.

"You're a tracker ninja from the Hidden Mist village?" Kakashi asked him.

"Yes, and I have been tracking Zabuza for a while now. Now I must take care of his body. Again I thank you," He said and disappeared. Naruto began to throw a fit.

"What? How could he defeat Zabuza so easily? What are we even doing?" Naruto said, punching the ground. Kakashi held his hand back.

"Listen, Naruto. There are kids younger than you but stronger than me. Not everyone is the same." Kakashi said and let Naruto's hand go. Before they could go anywhere, Kakashi fainted.

"Kakashi- sensei!" Sakura yelled and ran up to him. She checked his pulse to see that he was, in fact, still alive. Tazuna lifted Kakashi up, and they went to his house.

As they got there, they took Kakashi up to a room and made sure that he wasn't injured physically. After realizing he was just tired from using the Sharingan, they left his room. Sakura and Karen shared a room that Karen wasn't happy about. At the same time, the boys had their own. As the girls got settled, Sakura started the conversation.

"Karen, don't think just because Sasuke complimented you that he ever date a girl like you," Sakura said.

"Hey, what don't you do me a favor and shut your mouth," Karen said. "I don't care about Sasuke that way, or any guy now leave me alone," She stareing at Sakura with a deadly glare causing her to flinch before turning away from her and going to bed.
