I dialed the number frantically, afraid someone would try to stop me. This was the number they had told me to dial specifically for information on Stacey. I couldn't take this any longer.

"Hello, this is th--"

I interuppted before they could finish. "I have information on the death of the Marones. Please come over here!" I said desperately, looking around in fear. What if she came over here before they did? What if something happened to me?

I gave them my address, explaining I had it all on her computer. They said they would be there in a matter of minutes.

I drummed my fingers impatiently, opening up the laptop slowly. I clicked the chat box cautiously.

StaceyC: Good luck with the police Jordyn.

Suddenly, all the messages started being deleted off of the screen. I panicked, watching as the chatbox scrolled and scrolled until the only message left on the screen was the first I had sent.

Jordyn49: Stacey?

That one fateful message from what felt like ages ago. I nearly had a heart attack, when another message popped onto the screen. And it wasnt Stacey's.

Jordyn49: Stacey...I miss you.

My eyes widened. She was impersonating me...how? She was making me sound desperate...in front of the police...I buried my head in my hands.

Just then, the doorbell rang. I groaned, listening to my mothers panicked voice as she answered the door.

"Jordyn?! Jordyn did you call the police? Whats going on?" she asked frantically. I buried my head in my hands. What now?

But then I remembered. Her computer diary. The entry...maybe it was still there!

I heard the police coming up the stairs, my mothers voice trailing behind them. "Why are you here? Why did she call you?" I heard the police trying to explain, when one of them walked into my room.

I froze in place. "Hi." I said cautiously, unsure how to start.

The two police just looked at me sternly. "Hello Jordyn. We are coming in regards to your call- you said you had information on Stacey Marone?" I nodded sheepishly. "Well, may we please see it?"

I nodded again, going over to the computer anxiously. I opened up the chat box one last time, just to make sure what Stacey did really happened, before closing it abrubtly. Then, I clicked on her journal.

"This is Stacey's computer..." I said, looking over to my mother nervously. I watched as her eyes widened in shock, looking at the bright red laptop that had been in front of her the whole time. "I...I can't believe I never...how long have you had this?" she asked.

"A while..." I said, wondering if she was angry. The policemen simply looked annoyed. "Please, can you show us what you found?" one asked, looking at the computer. I clicked on her last entry, shaking nervously. Would it still be there? I clicked on it and swiveled the laptop around to show them.

They raised their eyebrows. "I died..." one mumbled, reading the entry in awe. But one looked unphased. "How do we know she didn't write this?" he asked, looking at me suspiciously.

I suddenly froze. I hadn't considered they might think that. I then remembered the older entries...them saying her father was acting strange lately. I hadn't really considered that being a contributing factor...but the police might. I clicked on another entry, showing them the entry saying her father was acting strange.

They leaned in towards the computer, reading the entry. "Now this is a bit suspicious." he said, mumbling. "Do you think the father had something to do with this?"

I stood up quickly, taken by suprise. "What?! No!" I said angrily. "He would never! I was just trying to point out that maybe he was worried about something..."

The police looked at me as if I was a five year old. "Now, we know you knew this man and trusted him, but he could have something to do with this. Maybe he was involved in something, some sort of arguement, some sort of de--"

"NO!" my mother yelled angrily. "He would never do that! He DIED for goodness sakes! He was a reasonable man, there would be no reason!"

The policeman shrugged. "Well ma'am you never know. There has to be a reason why someone would kill him." he looked towards me again. "Could we keep that computer for evidence?" he asked, gesturing towards it. My eyes went wide with panic.

"Uh...I'd prefer you didn't. Stacey always joked around if she died I would get her computer..." I lied smoothly. "Its what I have left of her. This was hers." I said, feigning sadness.

One looked at me sympathetically. "Well...." but the other interrupted. "No. We really need to take this for evidence. YOU'RE the one who called US." he said, enunciating each word, reaching for the laptop.

"What are you two, good cop bad cop!?" asked my mother. The cop stopped reaching for it, sighing. "I'll tell you what. We'll take it to the police station, have the cops look at us, print the files, etc. Then we will give it back, okay?"

I gulped, looking from the cop to my mother.

"Okay."
