Chapter 14 - Called mastermind for a reason

The next couple of weeks passed by quickly since we had a golden week. Today was a Monday again. When I walked to school I saw all Class B students looking at me and I knew exactly why they did. The reason behind their stares is the rumor that spread a few weeks ago. The rumors are still there since neither Nanase or I deny it.

Flashback

Ayanokoji: "Not right now but in the near future. I'll tell you the situation and what you have to do in that situation. Is that fine?"

Nanase: "Yeah that's fine with me."

Ayanokoji: "So there will soon be a rumor about us two being in a relationship."

Nanase: "What?"

Ayanokoji: "It's as I said someone will soon spread a rumor about us two because we just went to Keyaki Mall together and I sensed a spy while I was petting your head."

Nanase: "Okay and do you want me to deny it when it comes out?"

Ayanokoji: "No. I want you to neither deny it nor to confirm it. I need this rumor to stay for a while."

Nanase: "But why?"

Ayanokoji: "It'll give me some information since after the rumor spread there will be a new special exam and I can imagine that it will also include you first years."

Nanase: "Okay but are you sure that I shouldn't deny it senpai?"

Ayanokoji: "Yes. If anything happens to you then tell me. I will protect you."

Flashback ends

That is the reason why the rumor hasn't vanished. When I entered the classroom I could see that Kei gave me a hostile stare. She told me that she was done helping me in class and I didn't left it at that since I didn't want to bother her anymore.

I sat down in my seat and Horikita instantly spoke to me.

Horikita: "Is it true?"

Normally I would play dumb ask her what she meant but that is useless now since everyone is talking about me and the rumors. She hasn't had the chance to talk to me about the rumors.

Ayanokoji: "Who knows? Nothing is settled."

She left it at that and class started before any of my other classmates could say something to me. But I felt the gazes from the boys on me, they probably were jealous of me since I was supposedly in a relationship with a beautiful kouhai.

Chabashira: "Good morning students, I have news for you about a new special exam."

Ike: "Not again. Man I don't want to."

Shinohara and Onodera: "Yeah we're tired."

Chabashira: "You just have to live with it. The exam takes place next week and will have two parts."

Horikita: "What do you mean two parts?"

Chabashira: "You will understand soon. For now I can only explain the first part of the exam to you."

Chabashira wasn't looking like the normal Chabashira we knew. Normally she looks strict and she doesn't care what happens but today she was somewhat shaken. It seems others have noticed as well but nobody spoke up, thus we left it that.

Chabashira: "The first part will be a Class Poll Vote Exam. There will be various question and every time there will be two answer options for you to pick. However everyone in class has to vote for the same option for the exam to continue. If you don't agree on one option then the exam will not continue. You have a time limit for the exam and if you don't finish it before the time limit you will lose 300 class points." (A/N: basically the Special Exam in Y2 V5)
