His hands trembled, fingers gripping his phone against his ear, waiting for the ring to stop and a voice to answer. It kept ringing and ringing, then again would pick up a call three in the morning but he wanted it to be answered.

"Minho, he isn't picking up." Jisung said, voice shaking and fear pulling at the edges of his words as he looked at the boy who sat next to him on the bed, covered with the moonlight that poured through the window in silver bars.

"Keep trying. He will pick up." The warlock whispered while he gently rubbed Jisung's bare shoulders, peppering kisses all over the back of his neck and the younger hummed in return.

Minho was conflicted as well, genuinely concerned of the sudden call they got from the council member telling them that they had found where Hyunjin and Chan were hiding. Everything was going downhill from worse to the worst.

"God Damn Hyunjin!" Jisung cried out in to the call. "Run from there. They have found where you are. Please go. Leave quickly."

Hyunjin's knees weakened and took him all his strength to get up to shake the older from his sleep, tears slipping through his eyes like downpour.

"Chan. Wake up." He said, only to receive a groan in return. "Wake up! Please, we need to go. Get up."

Chan woke up, alert of what he was hearing yet unbelievably staring at his lover. "What do you mean?" His voice was rough after the sleep, eyes swollen with the lack of sleep, hair messy and unbrushed.

"Jisung called. They are coming for us."

Shoving all his cloths in to the leather bag, the nephilim replied and pulled his jeans on, strapping his weapons to the belt. "Hurry we need to-"

He saw a shadow down from the window, followed by more dark figures running towards the building. Hyunjin felt his mouth go dry and breathing stop for a second before looking at the demon who could smell the burning metals of angels.

"They- they are here."

Hyunjin unsheathed his double word, ready to fight for their life and run away but Chan knew better than him. He knew it wasn't possible to fight against them for him and Hyunjin.

"Hyunjin stop."

"No Chan, we have to go. I'll figh-"

"Hyunjin, love, look at me." Chan held his face in his palms, rubbing his thumbs back and forth, soft yet trembling against the damp skin. "W-we can't fight."
For once he stuttered, sighing heavily and swallowed at his aching throat where a lump blocked all his words.

"We can't- there's too many and we don't have time. No matter how much we run away, they will find us. Because we don't belong here. They don't accept us. They don't accept demons with an Angel."

"But Chan, we ca-" Hyunjin wanted protest and tell that what others say didn't matter but Chan pecked him.

"Let's go to Thule." The demon proposed, ignoring the banging against the front door as he closed their room and locked it. "There we can live freely. No one will bother us."

Thule, another alternative world where the angelic power didn't go through, where the nephilim weapons were blunt and useless but to go there, they had to-

"Fine." Hyunjin exhaled. "I'll stab at your heart and you will claw at mine. Let's shed blood on our own without being cowards. Let's go to Thule."

His blade pointed at the demon's beating heart, over the thin fabric of his shirt, tremoring slightly and Chan held his wrist.

"Do not become weak infront of me. Do not tremble. Stab in one go."

And his claws rested, cold against Hyunjin's chest and they could here the front door brake down and Chan gasped, the steel burning against his flesh, piercing into his heart as blood pour out around the sword and his claws railed in to the nephilim.

They both fell on the cold floor, feeling their breath shorten and pulses flutter in suffocation. The crimson, thick ichor pooled around them, embracing them with a bitter scent.

Just as Hyunjin's fingers relaxed from the hilt of the blade, Chan held them against his, kissing it with the strength he had and he watched the other smile tenderly, already seeing the other side of his blooming reality before his eyes fall shut with the last breath and a small whisper of, "I'm sorry Jisung." Grieving for the pain he is sending his parabatai through.

The demon saw the dark outlinings over them, amused that they were too late as he himself could see the blurs of the golden fields and the ringing of happy echoes that called to him and let the heaviness fall upon his eyelids, letting go of the vision, only to go through his beautiful memories he had before, with Seonghwa, with Hongjoong and with Hyunjin, happy that they were together till the end...

And his exhale became cold against the night.
