After an awkward walk back to the Great Hall, Cali and Harry noticed that every house was clumped together in separate corners muttering and staring at the two, confused on what was going on they watched Dumbledore stand in front of the Great Hall.

"The teachers and I need to conduct a thorough search of the castle." Dumbledore's voice boomed through out the room. Cali glanced at Harry who was now avoiding all eye contact with her,and manoeuvred their way over to Ron and Hermione which Hermione noticed a tension between the two. She looked at Cali who gave her a look saying they would dicuss it later.

"I'm afraid that, for your own safety, you will have to spend the night here. I want the prefects to stand guard over the entrances to the hall and I am leaving the Head Boy and Girl in charge. Any disturbance should be reported to immediately," He glanced at the prefects, and then back to the students. "Send word with one of the ghosts."

He gave a wave of his wand and the tables flew to the edges of the hall and stood themselves up and with another wave of his hand the floor was covered with hundreds of squashy purple sleeping bags. "Sleep well." He left the Great Hall with the teachers as the doors shut behind them.

The hall immediately began to buzz excitedly, while the Gryffindors were telling the rest of the school what had just happened in their hall.

Cali sighed and grabbed a sleeping bag dragging it to a corner which Hermione followed after leaving Ron and Harry with confused expressions on their faces.

"Everyone into their sleeping bags!" Percy started shouting. "Come on, now, no more talking! Lights out in ten minutes"

Cali settled herself in the sleeping bag shutting herself out from everyone else. She could feel a hand be placed on her shoulder, she turned around and gave a thankful smile to Hermione. The boys joined the group and settled beside them.

"Do you think Black's still inside the castle?" Hermione asked, a small shiver when through Cali's body and she buried herself deeper into the bag.

"Dumbledore obviously thinks he might be." Ron said with a shrug.

"It's kind of lucky that he picked tonight, you know," Hermione started talking in a whisper trying not to frighten Cali. "The one night we weren't in the tower.."

Harry glared at Hermione. "Yeah, but Cali was! He pretty much almost killed her!" He shouted in a whispered tone.

Cali's eyes watered and she covered her hands with her ears, she didn't want to hear this. She especially didn't want to hear them talk about her like she wasn't there!

"I reckon he's lost track of time, being on the run," said Ron. "Didn't realize it was Halloween. Otherwise he'd have come bursting in here."

Harry hit Ron's shoulder and pointed at Cali's bag who was shaking in silent tears and in fear.

Hermione shrugged it away, it's not that she didn't care for Cali's well being it was just a curious subject and she wanted to get down to it. "What I want to know is how did he get in."

A ravenclaw from a few feet away answered. "Maybe he knows how to Apparate, just appear out of thin air, you know."

"Disguised himself, probably." Said a Hufflepuff who had decided to join.

"What about flying in?" Dean Thomas who decided to join the conversation as well.

Cali got frustrated and sat up from her bag and glared at them her eyes red and puffy from crying. "He couldn't of done any of those things. Obviously no one reads anymore, the castles protected more than the walls, you know." The group stared at her wide-eyed but Hermione smiled proudly at her.
