We left the restaurant and we walked a little bit above the plaza, that there was a shop that had things like a mini market, to buy some coffee because there wasn't any left, from the last time that i was with my parents in my summer house. I thought that we might need to drink a cup of coffee and instead for searching for an open coffee shop for a take away, to be able to make our own. In Thessaloniki, we can make a phone call and to bring the coffee at our doors but here you can't do that. And, i remember Nick to drink a lot of coffee. Also, we could make one before our walk tomorrow.
We entered the shop and i started looking for the coffee. Nick was expecting for me to finish in front of the place where the cashier was sitting and was checking some magazines that were in stacks. I asked him if he wanted anything else and he said that he is okay. Then, the woman that was working there put the coffee in a plastic bag and i payed her. Before we left, a thought came to my mind and i pulled Nick in order to follow me.
I remembered that there was a hallway full of dirty tourist souvenirs and i had to show him. That might be childish of me but they were having so many of them and they were selling them to anyone who wanted to buy. It seemed silly to me that someone would go to a foreign country and from all the things that they could buy to remember this place, they would choose the specific ones. I don't know if this happens in other countries or mostly in Greece, because i have seen all my life, different tourist shops to sell similar things to what we could find here. I have only traveled in Greece, so i can't tell for sure, what other countries are doing. And, okay, you bought something, what will you do with it after? Will you put it in the living room for everyone to see it or will you hide it somewhere so noone can find it? Also, if you going to bury it why would you go and buy one in the first place?
In the beginning there was a mild shock, mostly for Nick but it affected me too. No matter how many times i see them, i still feel suprised. They had a huge amount of them and that makes you wonder how many people are actually buying these, that they had to fill so many shelves with all these. You can find ones for all kinds of different tastes. All sizes, shapes and forms, for all different body parts, in many alternative positions. And, there are always those who are based on the greek mythology, so you don't forget. We were checking them out, with our mouths half open, half closed. I wanted to make a joke like, look where i'm bringing you, where will you see again all these. Yet, i didn't say anything and i was starring too hard on the souvenirs. I blame my eyes and my curiocity, that i couldn't stop gaping at them. He found it funny and while he was sitting next to me, he raised playfully a layer of hair that one of them was having, in order to cover the most sensitive parts underneath. I turned to look at him and he was in a silly mood with all these in front of us.
"I would really like to know who's buying all these and they have so many", i said.
"It would be the dirty little secret of the customers. They would come specifically to this village to buy souvenirs and renew their sex lives".
"How would they renew their sex lives? Only by looking at them?".
"Yeah. Why not? You can always get inspiration from them".
"Yes. Some things that you see here, definitely belong to the category don't try this at home, if you don't want to get injured. And not only you but parts of your body too. They are dangerous."
"Yes, dangerous for heart attacks during the action".
"Excuse me. Who's gonna try something like this. Trained acrobats?" , i told him while showing him something specific in front of me.
"I remember there was an actor that broke two times his penis during sex. Probably he was trying this or anything similar to this. ", i continued and Nick was laughing.
"So you are not into trying new things? "
"It depends on what things you mean? There are some things that i would never do."
"Or you are afraid to try."
"Or i'm afraid to try", i repeated what he said.
"Sex should be fun. We aren't in some kind of competition. The ones that do the most wild things win. It isn't quaranted too that if you do this, you will have the most pleasure or you would enjoy it. If you end up getting harmed, you will definitely won't have fun and you would have to go to the hospital and explain what happened. Embarashing to say the least. And, when you always try to find new things to experiment with, it means that your relationship has a problem and is lacking other things and it is only based on sex. It's okay that we are here and look at these and joke around but if we had to do that or similar things all the time in order to keep our relationship alive, we would better choose different ways. I might be too romantic but not everything is about sex in this world or should be about. People should have a life beyond the bedroom, with intimacy too."
"Okay. Okay. Don't get angry with me. Do you want to go?"
"Yes. Let's go" and like this we found ourselves outside of the shop.
