Chapter 35: Weighed Gains and Losses

Jeon Jungkook thought he would be happy once Yu Lisa promised to stay, but he wasn’t. Yu Lisa treasured the child she had with Kim Taehyung and couldn’t bear to leave her but could easily let go of the child she was going to have with him. The fact disappointed him. She indeed hated him to the core.

It was at noon. Yu Lisa was taking a nap. Jeon Jungkook took Lalice to the swimming pool for a swim. He floated in the pool and put Lalice on his chest. Lalice was so happy that she patted the water and couldn’t help smiling broadly.

Her little short arms and legs kept kicking to show her happiness. The long eyelashes and diamond-shaped mouth of Lalice reminded Jeon Jungkook of Yu Lisa when she was young.

He did want to have a baby with Yu Lisa. However, compared to Yu Lisa, the kid would be less important.

“Lalice, call me daddy.”

“Daddy.” Lalice was still in a happy mood. Jeon Jungkook raised her up by her armpits and let her enjoy the water by half-sinking her in the water.

Jeon Jungkook looked into Lalice’s eyes, “How about Daddy teaching you how to dive?”

Lalice nodded her head.

“Lalice, breathe like daddy!” Upon his words, Jeon Jungkook dived with Lalice in the water suddenly. The act was so sudden that Lalice got scared and opened her mouth when she found herself immersing in the water. A string of bubbles arose!

Yu Lisa just woke up from her nap and came to the swimming pool. The scene in front of her nearly scared her to death. She ran to the pool, dived into it without hesitation, and swam towards Jeon Jungkook.

When Lalice was again above the water, she was choked heavily that she cried and screamed out loud.

Yu Lisa turned to Jeon Jungkook and scolded him angrily, “You want to kill her! Aren’t you?! She is just a kid not knowing anything!” She hugged Lalice and swam ashore. She ran outside in a rush and yelled at the same time, “Doctor! Doctor!”

It was not until now before Jeon Jungkook knew that he had made a huge mistake. He had ruined the trust hardly built during these days.

In the next two months, Yu Lisa never spoke to him again, and she was even unwilling to sit and eat with him at the same table.

This day, Lalice wanted to draw pictures but Yu Lisa couldn’t find pens and papers everywhere. She didn’t want the help from Jeon Jungkook’s servants. Thus she went to the study room of Jeon Jungkook’s and tried to find pens by herself.

However, she was more than shocked when she accidentally found Jeon Jungkook’s medical records which showed that he had taken a ligation surgery and couldn’t have his own babies later. Her shoulders shivered. All those emotions hidden deep in her heart were brought out suddenly by the medical records. She lay on the desk and couldn’t help bursting into tears.

Standing outside the room, Jeon Jungkook dared not to knock the door. He didn’t expect what he dad done would be found by her one day. He didn’t know what to do now. Yu Lisa must hate him more now, for she wanted to leave him so desperately.

Jeon Jungkook turned around and went back to his room quietly and said to servants not to disturb him even when it was dinner.

Late at night at 11:00 p.m., Yu Lisa walked into Jeon Jungkook’s room and asked him when she came to the foot of his bed, “Are you asleep?”

“No.” Jeon Jungkook sat up as he replied. He reached out his hand to turn on the berth light. Though quietly as him when he looked into Yu Lisa’s eyes, millions of thoughts on possible scenes came to him in his mind. He didn’t know whether she had found today would drive her crazy or not. He was so afraid that he dared not to explain it.

“You are the heir of the Jeon family.” Yu Lisa said in a cold voice.

“Yes.”

“Do you know what a ligation surgery would mean?” Yu Lan asked with fists clenched. Though she said in a composed way, her eyes were getting sore.

“I knew.”

“Why you still did it since you had known?”

“I’ve thought about the gains and losses.” He answered calmly without a slight hesitation or regret.

Yu Lisa gnashed her teeth and managed a cold smile, “Gains and losses? What are the gains and losses?”

“The gains and losses you won’t want to hear or to believe even I speak them out.” Jeon Jungkook did want to tell Yu Lisa about it. However, the reality stopped him. One was that he was not used to expressing words of love. Second was that he didn’t find a chance to do so since Yu Lisa would immediately walk away when she saw him.
