A cooling breeze hits your face as you're resting your head on the rolled-down passenger seat window. Your skin taking in the warm sunbeams, as your favorite song is playing on the car radio, with your dad humming along the lyrics while being stuck in New York's well-known traffic. It was one of those typical summer days you would see in movies.
"Breaking news!" says the voice emerging from the car radio, interrupting your favorite song. "Reporting live from New York one chopper. An Oscorp truck carrying plutonium has been hijacked, a police chase is in progress."
You hear sirens wailing in the streets, pedestrians running while fearfully yelling, the other cars honking continuously as they all start to speed up and the wailing noises coming closer and closer.
"Dad?" you say as your father had run a red light just like the other cars, and started speeding home.
"Live on park avenue in 56 Street where it is complete chaos, a man in some sort of weaponized armored suit is wreaking havoc on midtown." is the last thing you hear before the crash.
It was the summer evening that had changed y/n's life forever, the day she'd seen her father live his last day on earth.

It's been almost 3 years since my father's passing, and I don't think I'll ever get over it. But ever since I met him, flowers started growing in the darkest parts of my mind. The moment I met Peter I knew it would be impossible for me not to fall for him. Those beautiful brown eyes take me to my happy place, they make me feel home.
Peter came over to your place, the two of you laying down on the fire escape as you were stargazing. You knew about Peter being Spider-Man, but never really liked the idea of him risking his life out there every day. You've talked to him previously about how anxious it makes you feel, how scared you are that one day you'll see him leave but never return. Nonetheless, you know deep down that it doesn't matter how much you plead him to stay home and let the police officers do their job, he would never be able to give up being Spider-Man.
Your eyes scanned the star-covered sky as you tried to make out various constellations, making some of your own up as well. "ooh, Peter! look it's a shooting star! make a wish" you say. "Alright," you hear Peter say as he's close his eyes for a couple of seconds and makes a wish. "What'd you wish for?" you ask, turning so you were laying on your side as you're facing him. He grinned, showing his teeth happily. "can't say, or else it won't come true." Peter quipped.
Oh how you could stare into those eyes and listen to him talk forever, you could imagine spending the rest of your life laughing with him.
"Come on, I-"
You couldn't finish your sentence as the both of you got caught off guard by all the city lights suddenly turning off, causing the entire city to be pitch-black. "What the-" you hear Peter murmur to himself as he's processing whatever it is his spider-senses are trying to warn him about.
The lights turn back on, the brightness blinding you for a couple of seconds. When you open your eyes again, they automatically follow your boyfriend, who's already in his suit swinging around the city following the wailing police cars, as they were trying to find the source of whatever had just happened.
The sudden loudness causing y/n's heart to beat faster and faster, as she could feel the panic running through her veins. And the worst part about it was that the only person who could calm her down right now wasn't next to her.
Y/N climbs back to her room through the window, slamming the window shut once she's back inside. "Fuck, fuck, fuck." She cries, gasping for air and crawling to the corner of the room. Although the sirens weren't that loud from her bedroom, the screams of the people were piercing her brain, to which y/n puts both hands to her ears, trying to block out any existing sounds.

Not aware of the passing time, Peter climbs back through the window, covered in sweat, suit ripped in some areas.
"Finally, that was exhausting," He exclaims, not seeing his girl in the corner of the room.
"Y/n, where are you?" Peter says as he's slowly catching on his breath, only to hear the silent but ragged cries making him desperately search the room. "Shit," Peter mutters under his heavy breath, heartbroken, he runs to kneel beside you.
"Y/N, I need you to breathe, please." Peter said as he was trying to make eye contact with you, "hey it's okay, just repeat after me," Peter took a deep breath, remembering one of the many breathing exercises videos he had watched on YouTube after y/n had confessed her trauma attacks to him.
Y/n did her best to mimic the way her boyfriend's chest moved, and she succeeded, feeling the air enter her lungs as it should. But the tears kept falling.
"That's it, beautiful, that's it." Peter compliments her, as his hands go to her wrists. "You can put your hands out, nothing will happen to you, I promise." Y/n listens to him and dreads for a second when her ears are exposed, but she knows nothing bad is gonna happen if she has Peter in front of her.
"Very good, baby, I'm so proud of you," Peter says as he gives you a winning smile and puts a kiss on your wrist. "I'll stay with you for as long as I have to," he whispers in your ear, leaving kisses on your sweaty forehead. "I love you."
