Peter Parker nodded as his friend Gwen prattled on about what happened in Chemistry class. A class Peter had to miss because of his crime-fighting duties. Truth was, Peter couldn't care less about Chemistry. He was too busy staring at the laughing girl from across their table. Her head was thrown back and her silvery laugh filled his ears. Y/n's face lit up in a way that made Peter's heart fall even more for her. Peter sighed and rested his head on his fist.
"You know you could just talk to her instead of staring at her like a creeper," Gwen stated.
"I-I wasn't staring." Peter defended himself.
"Sure you weren't." Gwen chuckled. Peter rolled his eyes.
"If I was, and I'm not saying I was, can you blame me? She's perfect." Peter said, dreamily.
"Which is why you should talk to her." Gwen forced.
"With her friends, who hate me by the way, around her? I don't think so."
"Well, then you just have to catch her alone and ask her to hang out," Gwen suggested. Peter scoffed and pushed his food around his lunch tray.
"Easier said than done," his mood instantly dropped knowing that he may never have a chance with the beautiful girl.
"Think again." Gwen clasped his friend's shoulder, making Peter lookup. Y/n stood up, lunch tray in hand, and walked to the trash bin. "She's alone. I'd say this is a good time to go over there and put on the Spidey charm."
"Gwen, I-I can't. Wh-what would I even say?" Peter stuttered.
"Don't overthink it, just go!" Gwen said as she pushed him out of the bench and pointed in Y/n's direction. Peter knew that Gwen wasn't going to let this go if he didn't even try to talk to you. He took a deep breath and walked towards you. The nerves inside of him grew with each step. He wiped his sweaty palms on his pants. Peter was about to tap Y/n's shoulder when he lost his footing and ended up tripping over his own feet. He tumbled to the floor, ungracefully. Y/n turned around and gasped. People around him laughed. Peter just shook his head and pushed himself off the ground. Y/n looked at him, concerned.
"Are you okay?" You asked him, reaching out, putting your hand on his bicep. Your touch turning Peter's face red.
"Y-yeah, just a little clumsy. That's all." Peter was surprised at the significant lack of stuttering.
"That was a pretty hard fall. You sure you're okay?" you dropped your hand, blushing a little at the feel of his muscles.
"I'm okay. I-I was just..." Peter couldn't hold Y/n's gaze for so long without blanking out.
"You just?" you prodded.
"I-I just needed to get a tissue that's all." He grabbed a tissue from the counter behind you. "Uh, have a good day."
Peter turned around and hurriedly speed-walked back to his and Gwen's table. leaving y/n confused.
"That was pathetic," Gwen commented. Peter sat down and covered his face.
"I know."

You clutched your coat tighter around yourself as you walked to the book store. You pushed the door open, a bell chiming to signal that a new customer entered. You moved through the aisles looking for your next book.
Peter, meanwhile, was hiding behind a shelf. He knew he could find you here, but the moment he saw you he froze up. He did not want to embarrass himself a second time today but he knew that he needed to man up and just to you. Peter took a deep breath, pulled on his backpack straps, and made his way over to you.
