Your little hand's wrapped around my finger

And it's so quiet in the world tonight

Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreamin'

So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light

To you, everything's funny

You got nothing to regret

I'd give all I have honey

If you could stay like that

I woke up the next morning to a tiny hand petting at my face and hair.

My eyes slowly open to Phoebe laying next to my body gently moving her hand back and forth from my face to my hair. Her sweet little green eyes stare into mine.

"Goodmorning, Momma!" She says a little too loud for what I would have liked from just waking up. "Cake time?"

I look at the clock that reads 7:08, unsure of why she's up early and before me. But her excitement for the day probably gave her more energy to wake up.

"Good morning my sweet Bug." I laugh. "No it is not cake time, you silly. We have to wait til all of our guests get here so they can sing Happy Birthday to you." This statement makes her let out a big groan.

"Well can they just hurry up already!?"

"Phoebs, we still need to get the house all decorated and prepared before people even start coming, okay? We need to practice our patience because that's not until later in the day."

"Ugh, alright." She says as she cuddles her body into mine. Her cuddles are my favorite thing in this world.

"Auntie Maya and both grandmas will be here early to help us decorate, so let's go eat some breakfast to get our energy for the day?"

"Okay... can I have yogurt just like you do?" She says, bringing her hand back to my face.

"Of course baby. You can have whatever you would like."

She doesn't make any move to get up so I just let her lay next to me, basking in the love that she's giving me today.

She's extra touchy and lovey today, most likely from the absence of me before bed last night. I always feel so guilty when I'm not the one putting her to bed.

"How was your night with Auntie Maya?" I ask.

"We made cupcakes for my birthday!"

"Yeah? I'm sure they'll taste so, so good." My fingers grab a strand of her curly hair and twirl it around. "What else did you do?"
